‏Local authorities making emergency plans for March 29th onwards 2019 for Crash Out Brexit (Leaving without a deal)

@faisalislam
NEW: Extraordinary Kent County Council No Deal Brexit document detailing “Operation Fennel” next month to hold 10,000 HGVs “on a routine basis”

-administration GCSEs/SATS

  • waste services “delayed and disrupted”
  • “difficulties with transport of the deceased”

Looks like there's a serious possibility of 1000s of our kids having wasted years of education as GCSE and A level exams could be cancelled.

Buteo exactly! We’ve gone from Vesta curry to artisan avocado ( priced at an eye watering amount) I can’t see people being happy to go back to spam & chips!

LuluJakey1 · 08/12/2018 23:03

And we may not be able to buy Mr Kipling fondant fancies if we leave the EU without a deal - something to do with one of the ingredients being made in the EU and imported and they won't let us have it.

If that was widely known, there would be a nationwide call for a second referendum.

nancy75 · 08/12/2018 23:04

I don’t like fondant fancies, but if I can’t get walnut whips I’m going to start my own protest group

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 08/12/2018 23:06

Walnut whips have lost the walnuts

LuluJakey1 · 08/12/2018 23:08

I can't speak with any authority about the potential for disruption to the Walnut Whip supply- sorry Nancy

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 08/12/2018 23:08

lulu

WHAT??!!!!

No french fancies? Seriously you are shitting me

Childrenofthesun · 08/12/2018 23:09

How would a hard or no deal Brexit stop GCSE happening? They're ready and will be sent out at the appropriate time by Royal Mail, or special courier, as normal. They don't come via Europe!

Well, obviously because the traffic in Kent may well make the roads impassable so the delivery van can't get through! Read Infinite curve's post about what Operation Stack is like and imagine that x100.

JacquesHammer · 08/12/2018 23:10

I’m hoping that the lack of confectionery may make some people sit up and notice. Because the real threat of lack of medication doesn’t seem to.

I’m on a rarely prescribed mini-pill. My GPS have already made noises about it being harder to get. But yay, blue passports right?

while i understand internet is important in this day and age, and yes i do actually see the bigger picture, thank you. i'm referring to the masses who rely on the trivial aspect of it, and not the important things that keep the country moving.
what i really want to know why walnut whips have lost the walnuts, they are hardly walnut whips now are they ? Confused

JacquesHammer · 08/12/2018 23:19

You DO know the outage didn’t discriminate, right? It affected people doing “important things” too. Hmm

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 08/12/2018 23:19

Well exactly paint

I assume its cost

I dont like the walnuts but dh is devastated Sad

(Thats a joke...i know you know that paint but im amazed at how many people take posts literally)

JacquesHammer · 08/12/2018 23:20

M&S Walnut Whips still have walnuts

Havanananana · 08/12/2018 23:20

For those who are having difficulty picturing what disruption to refuse collection looks like, here are photos from Britain in 1978 - admittedly caused by the municipal workers strike, but a taste of what Kent County Council is concerned about should the roads and infrastructure in the county come to a standstill.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 08/12/2018 23:21

Yeah i saw that jacques

But do they taste the same...

Actually m and s whils are quite nice

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 08/12/2018 23:21

Whips!!
Fucking hell...some beer, port and baileys and my typing is for shit

JacquesHammer · 08/12/2018 23:22

I have to admit I like them better, the chocolate shell is slightly thicker making it easier to lick out the cream filling.

Buteo · 08/12/2018 23:22

Mr Kipling is busy stockpiling ingredients so your French Fancies will be safe - but will have to be renamed as we won’t want any of that continental nonsense in Blighty.

I vote for renaming them British Delusions.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 08/12/2018 23:22

😧

JacquesHammer · 08/12/2018 23:23

Grin
Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 08/12/2018 23:23

Oooh that fits for both the last two posts

Buteo · 08/12/2018 23:25

some beer, port and baileys and my typing is for shit

That’s some cocktail. Is it nice?

Jason118 · 08/12/2018 23:27

Can somebody please remind me what the point of all this is? If we make it to the end, do we win something, maybe a trophy?

paintinmyhairAgain · 08/12/2018 23:44

we might get another bank holiday out of it, more hours in the day perhaps ? i'm going to prep stock pile 'british delusions' for dh - he loves them !

LuluJakey1 · 08/12/2018 23:47

Personally, I always removed the walnut from my whips. I prefer them without. I think a violet sugar paste flower would be nicer. If the whip was coffee flavoured, I would prefer a walnut on top.

Peregrina · 08/12/2018 23:48

Quite apart from the fact that services were very much reduced versus today at that time in history, there were severe shortages of food, clothing and medicines during the war, and thereafter.

By 1938 the government realised that War was very likely and started to prepare so they were at least ahead of our own Government in that.
