To take Dd to Hospital

Wallywobbles · 06/12/2018 19:24

So Dd12 had a sore tummy yesterday. It's a band across her stomach from under her tummy button to the top of her thighs.

Last night she did 5 poos and vomited multiple times in the night.

This evening the pain is worse. 9.5/10. Pain killers are making no difference. Spasfon no difference either. She has a temp of 38.7. No vomit and no poo. She feels like she needs to poo. She hasn't eaten all day.

I've rung the French equivalent of 101. They said wait to see Dr. appointment at 11.45 tomorrow.

Tonight is the big student night so hospitals will be full later.

Do I go or not?

I hope you get some answers soon. If there are celiac ganglions, have they said they can rule out cancerous growth? Flowers

Wallywobbles · 08/12/2018 08:03

We've seen a doc this morning. I think they're going to do another scan. Last night they mentioned a surgeon and I've signed all the necessary papers.

The smell is not quite eggy. It's not far from doggy. It's not sweet.

Oh the poor wee soul. Hope you get answers soon.

JeremyCorbynsCoat · 08/12/2018 08:13

Bless her heart ❤️

FloatingthroughSpace · 08/12/2018 08:20

Is she passing wind?
The pain sounds like my DD when she had intussusception (telescoping of the intestines) except she couldn't poo or fart and after being fobbed off that it was gastritis it did eventually get discovered, poor thing's belly was all swollen up by then. Intussusception is rare after age 2 so no one was looking for it.

Hope they work out what it is and treat her quickly OP. Poor thing, and you, it’s so scary when they are poorly.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 08/12/2018 08:42

Hope you get some answers

Lougle · 08/12/2018 08:56

I'm so glad you're back at the hospital. Flowers

Walkingthroughawall · 08/12/2018 09:09

There are an awful lot of people here confidently giving advice based on not very much. It sounds like the team looking after your daughter are doing the right things. Hope she’s better soon. (From a doctor).

Hope you get some answers soon Thanks

Strongmummy · 08/12/2018 10:17

Guys why on Earth are you trying to diagnose on here. It’s so so dangerous. Cancerous growths ffs!!!!!!! She’s in the best place; a hospital, with trained medical staff who can actually examine the patient rather than speculate. I never understand why people come to the internet for such things

AnastasiaVonBeaverhausen · 08/12/2018 10:27

Been following this. No comment really as not medical but I am a mum so sending lots of support. Please keep us posted FlowersBear

Wallywobbles · 08/12/2018 10:29

Abcess and appendicitis. Good to have a diagnosis. Poor girl is pretty much terrified about the surgery and the pain.

LutherRalph1 · 08/12/2018 10:29

Poor thing, at least you have answers now

Wallywobbles · 08/12/2018 10:31

They are going to remove the appendix and drain the abcess. (Probably-I guess things can change during the operation). Does anyone have some happy post op stories for her.

Another one just following and offering support. Glad you’ve got a diagnosis now and you know you were right to take your dd back to the hospital. Hope all goes smoothly now and wishing her a quick and full recovery.

AnastasiaVonBeaverhausen · 08/12/2018 10:33

The poor little thing. She must have been in agony. On of DDs friends (same age as your DD) had a bladder cyst and was pure agony. She was terrified of the surgery too but said that afterwards it hurt far less than it had before and was actually a relief. She will honestly feel better very quickly. I'm really glad you took her back in. Wishing her a speedy recovery Flowers

AnastasiaVonBeaverhausen · 08/12/2018 10:34

Bladder abcess even

EffYouSeeKaye · 08/12/2018 10:34

Happy stories? Well my friend’s ds (similar age) recently had his appendix removed. He had three weeks off school and was spoiled rotten with books and games and treats to keep him occupied while he recovered! That should take her nicely up until Christmas 🙂🎄

Idontknowwhyinfrench · 08/12/2018 10:36

Ah poor thing. Hope the operation goes well.
At least it’s a decent time of year for recuperating-plenty of films, crafts etc. And all being well she’ll feel much better in time for Christmas.

3luckystars · 08/12/2018 10:41

Best wishes for the surgery, i hope she recovers quickly.
