I have just read forty pages of thread and it’s almost full! Let us congregate here for answers!

If I was the OOP, I’d genuinely throw away 20 years of friendship if this joke turns out to be shit as fuck.

Also people mentioning the game? Why? Like why? I hate you. Ridiculous.
goes off to text friends to make them lose the game

PointlessUsername · 05/12/2018 09:43

Well that was a waste of everyones time.

DerekTheWonderdog · 05/12/2018 09:44

killingtime when I got the answer I knew you wouldn't be able to reveal it on the thread and that waiting for Thursday was pointless.
You can only understand this if you get the answer. killingtime can't reveal the answer because the answer only makes sense when you get the answer. When you get the answer you'll understand why you can't reveal the answer either. The only reason it didn't take me 20 years is because of something someone said in the original thread but none of the theories on there and here are the right answer.

Pumperthepumper · 05/12/2018 09:47

KillingTime said a couple of people on the thread had got it though?

BloodyUseless · 05/12/2018 09:49

It is actually quite an existential riddle.

Huntlybyelection · 05/12/2018 09:49

FFS.

No.

I am very very bad at riddles. I can never get them.

Saying that you know the answer but cannot tell us is rotten.

Why can't you tell us?

And for the love of all that's good in the world just tell us.

None of us know you. We won't tell on you.

DerekTheWonderdog · 05/12/2018 09:50

BloodyUseless 😁
PamperthePumper then the answer is in the thread somewhere, I didn't read the whole 1000 posts but worked it out from something someone said.

NicoAndTheNiners · 05/12/2018 09:51

I think the answer is that there is no answer and it's just pointless fuckwittery like mornington crescent.

People realise this and say they've worked it out but can't tell anyone because then they're part of the conspiracy and can can laugh at people trying to work it out.

That's the only explanation because otherwise there's no reason for the secrecy.

BloodyUseless · 05/12/2018 09:51

KillingTime said a couple of people on the thread had got it though?

They may have got it, but they didn't reveal it.

ShartGoblin · 05/12/2018 09:52

YABU

JaneJeffer · 05/12/2018 09:53

killingtime I WILL FIND YOU AND I WILL KILL YOU

IamAporcupine · 05/12/2018 09:53

@BloodyUseless - I trust you, your reasoning was always correct

Can you elaborate a bit more?
Is it actually funny, or is a proper riddle?

How do you know that when all KillingTime said However, one or two people in the thread HAVE got it. ?

Pumperthepumper · 05/12/2018 09:57

AND if the whole thing relies on not being able to tell anyone the answer, how come the friend’s mother was going to tell OP at her wedding?

BackstreetsBackAlright · 05/12/2018 09:58

Ok... so can someone who knows it please tell us the thing that people have said that led them to get it??!!!! 🤞🏻

Soso7789 · 05/12/2018 09:58

Move the full stop.

There once was a man called Bos. Well, for short they called him Bos, and he walked up the post office steps.

BloodyUseless · 05/12/2018 10:00

I personally wouldn't stress yourself out about it.

WatcherOfTheNight · 05/12/2018 10:00

Agreed @Pumperthepumper

diddl · 05/12/2018 10:01

"However, one or two people in the thread HAVE got it."

And you can't tell us who?Hmm

Gonzales27 · 05/12/2018 10:01

@killingtime9198 now that you know the answer please could you restate the joke/riddle so that we def have an accurate telling of it?

BackstreetsBackAlright · 05/12/2018 10:01

I’m looking at you killingtime and DerekTheWonderdog 👀

ShartGoblin · 05/12/2018 10:02

so can someone who knows it please tell us the thing that people have said that led them to get it

Derek said ages ago "In the 'spirit' of the joke, I can't tell you. Unless it's your wedding day."

I don't know if that's a clue or completely unrelated.

KittensAndChristmasCake · 05/12/2018 10:03

What a load of old tosh.
Just tell us OP, I assume the answer is that you can't say the answer....fgs just tell us 🤬

clairethewitch70 · 05/12/2018 10:04

Derek gave a clue. Apples, pears. Cockney slang for stairs?
