“For short they called him Bos” is a strange and clunky wording. It would be more natural to say “they called him Bos for short”. Which makes me think the word “Bos” and “and” have to be next to each other for the joke to work.

That’s as far as I’ve got.

Makes me think of Bread.

I think it is the for/four theory, as in Bos is 4 letters short of Boswell. I am also shamelessly place marking as I need to know how this ends.

Oh god, I tried not to get sucked into this joke that we will probably never have resolved and now I am invested in it. In months to come when I post under a name change I will just mention Boswell to prove I’ve been here a while!

With whamageddon does it count if you didn't know about whamageddon when you heard the song and have only just realised you heard the song 12 hours after it was played?

I contributed many pages ago and now have read through everything hoping to get somewhere. Feeling vaguely sick and light headed.

Either 'Bos' and 'and' (the end of the sentence)
or
'well' and 'for' (the beginning)
need to be together for the 'joke' to work. all the rest can be changed (man/woman, library/post office, etc etc)

The post office???? Did he walk up them because he was short. Could he not stamp up them because he was out of stamps?

Also my local post office has quite a number of steps up to it, at least 12.
