Bloodyuseless - don't you see how annoying it is for someone to say they've solved it and then tell everyone else to forget about it and close the thread?

This is what I don't understand, @BloodyUseless - why can't you tell anyone? How do you KNOW you can't tell anyone based on the answer of the riddle? Because I cannot see a solution to the riddle that can be both an answer and at the same time saying 'you cannot tell anyone the answer until you've got the answer'.

I'm confusing myself now.

dogzdinner to be honest I agree with Bloodyuseless. People will only be happy when they feel THEY have worked it out. If s/he told you her answer you will not believe it anyway

Exactly. Nobody will ever tell you if you have the right answer. Even the OP, when she "worked it out" didn't even check Derek's answer so in reality neither of them knows 100% if the other has the right answer.

Everyone needs to be a bit more zen about it and move on with their lives.

If there is an answer then I don't thinking is any of the theories so far because none of them are obvious enough for it to be a joke or riddle. No the OP is telling us to just pick the one we like the best and take that as the answer and ignore the thread. WTF, no wonder people are turning on the OP. We've put a lot of time into this thread and now op has " got it" yet won't explain. Like I said there is an 3xplination for everything so therefore I conclude you are all talking shite and there is no "answer" Or "punchline"

I can imagine comedian would go on a stage “Hi. My name’s Jo. It’s short for ... Jo.” And everyone would laugh.
