I’m fat, big legs, huge belly, massive arse. I need advice on leggings to wear with dresses please. All the ones I have slip down and irritate me. There has to be comfy, warm, thick winter leggings out there for the bigger lady? AIBU to ask for your help to track them down?

Nike do brilliant ones that are like compression leggings, so they hold you in a little, and they are made out of recycled plastic bottles Shock
The best and only leggings I wear now. They aren't cheap, but they are worth every penny.

Prisonbreak · 04/12/2018 21:17

Have you tried 2 pairs of tights? What size do you need?

Didntwanttochangemyname · 04/12/2018 21:17

They are called 'Legend' leggings

GreenMeerkat · 04/12/2018 21:19

Have you tried maternity leggings?

Brainfogmcfogface · 04/12/2018 21:22

Maternity leggings!!! I happen to be pregnant at the mo but will only be wearing them from now on, go right to the bust and don’t slip, super comfy, and if you search for the very shop on eBay they had some for £2.99 in plus sizes and feb quality is excellent!

ShinyMe · 04/12/2018 21:23

I'm fat and I've recently discovered M&S cotton jeggings. They're great - stretchy and stomach holdy-inny and have a nice high waist. I've got lots in different colours.

Fatasfook · 04/12/2018 21:24

Thank you! I’ve never considered maternity leggings which is mad because I look more pregnant now than I did when I was actually pregnant Blush
I will google the Nike leggings too, do they look shiny and sporty?

Fatasfook · 04/12/2018 21:25

I’m a big size 16, tall with a really big belly

Have you tried Evans? I find leggings from any of the shops that sell larger sizes only are pretty good

Babyroobs · 04/12/2018 21:34

I am big and I wear Boden leggings, I find they keep their shape really well and kind of hold it all in. There has been the odd year when the quality hasn't been as good as usual but generally they are good. they go up to size 24 I think and though a bit more expensive than others you can get 20% off codes and they often send gift vouchers.

Believeitornot · 04/12/2018 21:35

Just get some decent tights with hold control.

Phineyj · 04/12/2018 21:41

I got some support tights on Amazon from a US brand called Leggs. They're great and very fine knit.

HidingFromMyKids · 04/12/2018 21:42

I'm actually wearing the primark viscose leggings as maternity leggings but not the regular length, the long length ones go over my bump and don't dig into my fat and roll down.

Phineyj · 04/12/2018 21:42

Footless tights. They might as well be leggings. I have a pair from White Stuff that are ok too.

afrikat · 04/12/2018 21:43

Don't know about sizing but Mint Velvet leggings are amazing and a nice wide waistband

QOD · 04/12/2018 21:45

Don’t buy Tesco ones.

Just buy biggest size you can find then there’s no knicker showage too

Sunnydays365 · 05/12/2018 00:00

Sainsbury luxury leggings £10,not see through and come over my tummy, I'm size 20/22 and they're comfy too

Sparklesocks · 05/12/2018 00:04

I find the slightly more expensive ones on simply be are pretty good

Youmadorwhat · 05/12/2018 00:06

Mint velvet leggings are AMAZING!!

recklessruby · 05/12/2018 00:10

M and S and Sainsbury's do good quality leggings. I m a size 12 but have a flabby tummy left over from pregnancy and they hold you in.
Beware Primark! Either see through or weird sizes

recklessruby · 05/12/2018 00:11

About £10-15 but worth it

StatisticallyChallenged · 05/12/2018 00:18

Seconding mint velvet. They're really high waisted, mine saw me through my entire pregnancy and are still totally fine after too they wash incredibly well.

Mummblebee · 05/12/2018 00:21

Maternity sounds great. Still wear my maternity clothes now..

Next do good warm leggings that aren't see through.. 20 quid.. Not sure what size they go up too though.

Pizzamyhart · 05/12/2018 00:29

I'm tall and carry all my weight around my belly, I find Matalan are the only leggings that fit me well, and aren't see through.
