Have been told it's ridiculous ?!

OP posts:
TheLastNigel · 02/12/2018 10:42

He looks more like a Paul to me...
Don't get people saying 'it's been done to death' What has? Giving a pet a name? Are we all meant to stick with Fido, Towser and Rex then?

amusedbush · 02/12/2018 11:42

I forgot to say, my dad worked with a guy whose dog was called Tam. That always tickled me. Great Scottish name for a pet Grin

MrDonut · 02/12/2018 12:28

Look, name your pet what you want, but really don't think you are hilarious because you called your dog Dave.

The people that think Dave the dog is hilarious are the same people who think penis beaker was hilarious.

pickingdaisies · 02/12/2018 14:03

Yanbu. That is very definitely a Dennis. Or Philip at a push Grin.. or, er, Rocky? Ricky?
Ok, Keith.

EdWinchester · 02/12/2018 14:07

I love it.

I really love naff names for pets. I persuaded my friend to call her cat Ken.

My kids' rabbits were Steve and Maureen.

MrsTommyBanks · 02/12/2018 14:09

He is definitely a Keith.

Limensoda · 02/12/2018 14:11

It's an awful name for humans or dogs 😱

HavelockVetinari · 02/12/2018 14:32

Do it! Our chickens are called Kevin, Clive and Zoltán. They're transgender chickens of course, but luckily biology trumps identity so they continue to lay eggs Grin

Anasnake · 02/12/2018 14:46

Keith or maybe Ian ?

Kenworthington · 02/12/2018 14:51

When we got our cat I wanted to call him Keith or ken. He ended up being Colin. I have a hankering for a pooch and when I do he will be called Alan

EnormousDormouse · 02/12/2018 14:57

I have a cat called Barry too, more often called "Fat Baz"

RumbleDoll · 02/12/2018 16:02

Go for it.
I have friends with a Colin, Shetland and a Clifford, Cob.

Lauren83 · 02/12/2018 16:03

Wauden · 02/12/2018 16:10

bershetmelon · 02/12/2018 23:37

Do it! I have an Alice and and Audrey I also know a dog called Vera and a Brian. I love animals with people names 😂

MrDonut · 03/12/2018 00:10

Ok, I give up. You are all unfunny heathens.

I have to go feed my cat Tibbles von Futhsenhoffen III.

Moanranger · 03/12/2018 00:22

In the horsey world there is something of a trend for giving your horse an old man’s name as a stable name , such as Stanley (my personal favourite) Arthur, Derek, Horace, Fred, etc. And lots of general human names - Oliver, Bill, Bob. This is especially true when they have a poncey registered (or passport) name. I kind of prefer two syllables for a dog, easier for recall, but my last two were Sam & Star, & they came to their names ok.

Nothininmenoggin · 03/12/2018 01:11

I have a friend with a cat called Ian and another with dogs called Wilma and Alan. Love Keith for a dog.

TheGirlWithAllTheFeathers · 03/12/2018 09:17

I generally don't call dogs human names in case I offend someone in the park, but people get called anything nowadays so just go for it!

Talulahbeige · 03/12/2018 09:20

I’ve alays wanted a Bassett hound called keith, it make me laugh so much.

It also cos I love keith moon too. If I had two they’d be called Keith and John (Entwistle)

Modwolvesrock · 03/12/2018 09:26

We have a dachshund called Jimmy, his name suits him Smile

xJessica · 03/12/2018 09:28

I LOVE human names on animals. We have a dog called Steve and cats called Ken and Gary. Go for it!

OutPinked · 03/12/2018 10:04

YANBU. It’s mandatory to give all pets the name of a middle aged person (in my head at least Grin).
