We had until last Tuesday, a parrot called Abraham. He just died after 18yrs Sad

steff13 · 01/12/2018 20:28

I have a friend with a dog called Gene. I like animals with people names.

Feefeetrixabelle · 01/12/2018 20:28

You have to use a name that your happy to shout ‘dog, stop licking your balls’ or similar while he’s out in the back garden. Wouldn’t want anyone thinking you were talking to your husband 😂😂

Oobis · 01/12/2018 20:29

That is a fabulous canine name!! My imaginary future dog (my husband is allergic) is called Peter. Apparently after 30 hours of labour and various drugs, I proclaimed "but I wanted a dog!" Go with it, you and Keith will have many happy times ahead Smile

Mine is called Lenny, Leonard when naughty. I think the next will be Fido, or Pasha!

TheGlaikitRambler · 01/12/2018 20:34

My neighbours' dogs are called Chaz and Dave. It's quite amusing to hear her yelling "Dave!" to a very cute Lhasa Apso.

Anasnake · 01/12/2018 20:34

I had a cat called Eddie, go for it

YouFellAsleep · 01/12/2018 20:36

I know a bulldog called Keith, suits him. Go for it Smile

ApocalypseNowt · 01/12/2018 20:37

I prefer Gary but Keith is more than acceptable.

JuditthIscariot · 01/12/2018 20:38

When DS was little he was convinced a neighbourhood dog was called Frank

MrsFrTedCrilly · 01/12/2018 20:43

Brilliant name, I had a dog called geoff, it reall suited him.
@LetMeThinkAboutThat I’m so sorry for your loss Flowers

Binkyboi · 01/12/2018 20:43

Someone told me the thing about it being easier to train a dog with a two syllable name - a week after I’d brought my boy Frank home! He’s not the sharpest & he picked up his name within days. Definitely go with Keith Smile

AlpacaLypse · 01/12/2018 20:44

I walk loads of other peoples dogs with my dog walking business. We have a Kevin and an Alan, although the ultimate winner of daft name is a toss-up between Sober The Greyhound and Potato The Visla.

To be serious, two syllables is much easier to shout than one or three. Was this in Donald Sutherland's mind when his son ended up being Keifer rather than Keith?

ForalltheSaints · 01/12/2018 20:44

A name must pass the 'shout out of the door late at night' test. Not sure Keith passes it.

highheelsandbobblehats · 01/12/2018 20:45

I love people names on animals. My cats are Lottie and Jasper. Jasper is a girl. We also have Giant African Land Snails named Bob and Henry. I'm always trying to get the kids to name their teddies Keith or Dave. Succeeded with DS1, who named his Furby Dave.

Keith is an awesome dog name but the poster who said next door named their cat Gary is the winner for me. I wanted to call snail 2 that (after SpongeBob) but I was outvoted.

IndigoSpritz · 01/12/2018 20:51

If I was a dog called Keith, I would bite my owner and defecate in the flower beds at every opportunity.

LooksBetterWithAFilter · 01/12/2018 20:51

We have a cat called Keith... well it’s officially Mrs Keith because he turned out to be a she and da2 had wanted a kitten called Keith since he was 2 and didn’t want to change it.
Everyone laughed and said it was ridiculous now nobody can imagine her being anything else.

Takeittotheboss · 01/12/2018 20:52

This is very outing, but when I was a child our dog was called Keith. I have spent my entire adult life being laughed at, whenever I mention him.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/12/2018 21:01

YABU - male dogs should be called Trevor.

Our male guinea-pig is called Bert (but he only listens to the dinner plate rattling so single syllable doesn;t phase him)

Shoppingwithmother · 01/12/2018 21:03

My friend had a cat called John!

tor8181 · 01/12/2018 21:05
