I found a moth infestation in a cupboard. Obviously have emptied cupboard and fortunately only two items are really affected , which I have thrown out. One was a gorgeous Zara velvet blazer of ds’s. I’d buy it again if I could. I’d buy it in every size from 3 up. He only wore it twice but I loved it! I’ve had a quick look and there’s nothing the same (satin collar, very deep navy or possibly black) and it’s not on eBay. I know this is about as much of a first world problem as you can get (and I’m glad the rest of the clothes which are much more practical are fine). But his beautiful blazer.... :(

That doesn't seem to be it but Zara appear to have one age 5

Sorry I missed page 2!

Well done for finding them. I do understand why you are upset OP.

I have been thinking about this thread and I really think there is something weird in our evolution when our things are destroyed by pests. I had my baking cupboard invaded by mice and I felt really upset.

It's unusual for clothes moths to go for synthetic fabric in my experience- they head for wool and cashmere around here!

When DD was about 3 she had a sunhat that I absolutely loved and she looked gorgeous in. She (we) lost it on holiday in Greece. We looked everywhere and could not find it, and I could not find the same one to replace it. DD is 14 now and I still occasionally look in Monsoon to see if they have a similar one again! And when looking through old photos where she is wearing it, i feel mournful!

Sorting through old clothes can be a proper knife in the heart can't it!

I'd given all my boys things away but forgotten about a bag which I went through recently it evoked so many memories.

I had to squirrel a few bits away.

When I put outgrown clothes away I’m so glad i have a baby boy too and planning more so they will have to come out again one day...

It's a blazer. Moths have nibbled most of what I own. Get a grip

HauntedPencil · 30/11/2018 11:07

I had 2 boys so I'm on the second sort.

It's the little Janmies that get me.

HauntedPencil · 30/11/2018 11:08

You sound nice Mrs Lexic. Grin

timeisnotaline · 30/11/2018 19:19
