To find it impossible to find boots for skinny legs!

I'm looking for a nice pair of knee high black boots with a heel but every pair I try are too baggy around the legs! Can anybody recommend anywhere to find some? I've got too many lots of pairs of ankle boots but really wanted some that come just below the knee

Duo

Depending on your budget, this company is great

How much are you looking to spend?

Pinkyyy · 27/11/2018 11:38

Cross post x lots 🤣🤣

Pinkyyy · 27/11/2018 11:40

Ooh haven't heard of them, thanks will have a look! The price isn't really an issue as long as they're not gaping away from my legs

I feel your pain, I found some a couple of years ago at M&S, they were like a soft suede, no good over jeans, but fab to wear with skirts/dresses Smile

Pinkyyy · 27/11/2018 11:43

I had a look in M&S this morning but sadly no joy in-store so I may look online, it's just difficult to judge without trying them! I always wonder why there's wide fit shoes but no slim fit..

I have the same problem. Fly London boots are good as they’re adjustable.

grincheux · 27/11/2018 11:46

Jones do some boots in different calf widths, they're brilliant! I got mine in the sale earlier this year 😃

Pinkyyy · 27/11/2018 11:55

Thanks for the suggestions, will have a shop around today!

Duo, look on eBay I get them cheaper on there

Nquartz · 27/11/2018 12:00

I struggled for years too until I discovered Duo boots as I have big feet & skinny calves. Still going strong 10 years later!

StrongerThanIThought76 · 27/11/2018 12:09

It has been my life's mission to find boots for my skinny calves.

LACE UP BOOTS ARE THE FUTURE!!!!

Got my first pair last year, now am the proud owner of many beautifully fitting pairs

Oopsusernamealreadytaken · 27/11/2018 12:14

Have a look at teen ranges. They tend to be slimmer in the leg

Pinkyyy · 27/11/2018 12:17

Duo must be some sort of well kept secret, I'm amazed I've never heard of them! Lace up could be a good option but unfortunately I have quite big feet so teen won't fit me

Fairfax and Favor are remarkably narrow.

I've had 2 pairs of Duo boots and they don't last terribly well for the money. The soles are often very thin and one pair I had that cost £170 didn't even last one winter. Look at the soles before you order.

OlderThanAverageforMN · 27/11/2018 12:25

Ha - I need to start a similar thread.... Mine would be, where can I find boots which don't dig in or are like wellies...... I can't seem to find a middle ground!! I had some boots from Jones last year, perfect. But they are brown and flat, I now want some black, mid heel.

M&S are like wellies, are the ones I tried weren't even their wide fit. Clarks I can't get my feet in, as I also have high insteps, so they are too narrow in depth. Dune were lovely, I would suggest you try those. They were almost perfect, except they cut in just under my knee and made my knees look fat Grin. I also have short legs to add to the issues.

So anyone got short legs, not slim or fat, with a high instep??

SugarInMyTeaPlease · 27/11/2018 12:28

Goodness! i've just looked at those Duo boots, seems if you haven't got at least £200 forget it Hmm

Queenie8 · 27/11/2018 12:31

I have had this problem too. I literally tried on hundreds of pairs. The best on the high Street were Dune (although be very wary buying their shoes/boots as what appears to be leather isn't), one or two pairs in Clarks fitted.

The absolute best pair of heeled black leather boots I have are LK Bennett, extortionate in price, but 5 years old and still look brand new.

ScienceIsTruth · 27/11/2018 12:35

I have the opposite problem. My calves are too fat and I struggle to get boots that will do up properly. E.g. For knee high boots I struggle to do up the last half or third of the zip.

Pinkyyy · 27/11/2018 12:40

I feel like I've just come to some sort of realisation as to how stupid it is that boots don't really come in different leg sizes. Oh how lucky you must be to have the perfect size legs to be able to just buy boots from anywhereGrin

SandraTheBee · 27/11/2018 12:47

I have very narrow calves and ankles. The only ones that fit me are fly boots, I size down, but it’s a perfect fit.

NoughtDegreesNought · 27/11/2018 13:02

I also have the too baggy problem - just bought these from Asos (Swedish label Vagabond) and they fit very well.

Leafy2018 · 27/11/2018 13:11

Try Gabor - I have skinny legs and I tried a gorgeous pair on in John Lewis the other day and they were rather too snug! I am pregnant so trying to put it down to that!
