To find it impossible to find boots for skinny legs!

I'm looking for a nice pair of knee high black boots with a heel but every pair I try are too baggy around the legs! Can anybody recommend anywhere to find some? I've got too many lots of pairs of ankle boots but really wanted some that come just below the knee

Try having big feet tooGrin

Wintersnow39 · 27/11/2018 15:37

I found a pair in Office a few years ago, then fhe cobblers ruined them but they did refund me the cost of them.

GallicosCats · 27/11/2018 15:37

I have the opposite problem - chunky calves and small feet. Interestingly I may not be that chunky as I often find they fit round the calves a couple of sizes up (but obviously wobble round the feet like a pair of canoes...) Confused

Says a lot about standardisation. I think they should have a size survey of leg measurements and shoe sizes like they've apparently done with women's dress sizes.

It's good to know I'm not alone!

Camper Bowies.

WeeSausage · 27/11/2018 16:21

Has anyone tried Simply Be? Their boots come in different calf widths, but the smallest is 'standard'. Is it any slimmer than normal boots?

Villanelley · 27/11/2018 16:23

If anyone's ever after skinny leg wellies try Le Chameau, they're bloody brilliant and comfy enough for 2 hour dog walks!

BuffaloCauliflower · 27/11/2018 16:27

@WeeSausage simplybe’s standard is the same as your average, not big but also not slim

Another for Duoboots, though mine are big in calf as I have curvy legs. But I don’t have big feet so no other options fit right.

Yes they’re expensive but they’re a smaller company and they make multiple sizes so there isn’t an economy of scale. Good boots last years and years and are worth the investment

Mari50 · 27/11/2018 16:36

I find Fly boots really good as more often than not you can tighten the calf. Nothing worse than trying on a lovely boot and it being baggy at the top- happens all the time and I’m not especially slim. I just seem to have underdeveloped calves.....

SilverLining10 · 27/11/2018 16:39

You wont go wrong with Dune.

Pollaidh · 27/11/2018 17:42

Duo.

Though I find the quality (and waterproofing) isn't as good as the prices would lead you to hope. They're the only place I know of that does calf sizes, and they also have nice looking boots.

Thank you everyone!

For ankle boots I can only wear laces. Everything else is too baggy round the ankle.

ShalomJackie · 28/11/2018 16:24

Stealth boast Grin

Try finding any for larger calves with tiny feet

Bumbledop · 28/11/2018 16:38

I have this problem, I’m not skinny, but do have skinny calves and ankles. I’m watching this with interest, thank you

TheFivePointPalmHeartOfTafiti · 28/11/2018 16:43

Another vote for Dune. I have the same problem with skinny calves and have a couple of pairs of these which fit like a glove, the reviews all say similar. Dune often have money off promotions so worth waiting for one to bring the price down. www.dunelondon.com/pixie-d-button-detail-leather-knee-high-boot-0089501020003484/?cswatch=1

Jjbay · 28/11/2018 16:49

Oh following.. always have that problem drives me mad.. Smile

DanglyBangly · 28/11/2018 16:49

Are Duo Boots back? Last I saw, they changed their name and went all weird.

MorticiaAddamsIsMyStyleGuru · 28/11/2018 16:51

I have had the same problem in the past. I swear by Dune (own make) boots. They are wonderful and I find them true to size. I'm a wee size 3/36. 😁

MrsCalypsoGrant · 28/11/2018 17:01

I have this same problem but just bought some from Gabor in John Lewis, ruched black leather with a good heel. I bought both the mid calf & the knee high ones in the same style as it's so infrequent that I find boots that fit my legs!

ArfArfBarf · 28/11/2018 17:04

I have these in two different colours because they fit so well. I’m a classic apple with a fat stomach but skinny legs (especially the lower half). A friend recommended them to me when I was complaining about the same issue.

Sorry if the link doesn’t work because I’m abroad - they are Clark’s “Caddy belle”

ThatssomebadhatHarry · 28/11/2018 17:15

I hate you all!

(Stops off with tree trunk legs)

Pinkyyy · 28/11/2018 18:01

Interestingly, on my lengthy trawl of the internet I've found this pair and all the reviews say that they are too skinny in the leg! They're also dead cheap which could be a bonus, just not sure I like them. What do you all think?...

I've had some luck in the past with Jones the Bootmaker. I've got size 7 feet and it irritates me that it's assumed calf width increases proportionately! Most brands flap like wellies.

Hairydilemma · 28/11/2018 18:47

Try Hobbs too - I have some knee length leather ones with elastic panels in and they are nice and slim fitting. Think they are about £250 full price but if you have an outlet near you I got mine in one for about £150.
