Completely blocking the street. All they had to do was move up to pass parked cars and let people pass. Asked them to move and got ‘we’ve got a job to do!’

Yes, because I was going nowhere Confused

Well, there is a rather large difference between ‘the bins never being emptied’ and ‘move the lorry a few yards so cars can get by’ but this is MN ...

OP I would understand they're doing an essential job where they get a lot of abuse, often in difficult weather conditions, and I would leave earlier on bin day.

JoyofSticks · 27/11/2018 08:14

Oh...I thought you were going to tell us what it's like to fuck binmen.

JugheadismyHero · 27/11/2018 08:15

Ffs just leave earlier on bin day, it's not rocket science!!!

@JoyofSticks be a bit stinky unless you made them shower first

Balaboosteh · 27/11/2018 08:16

Very rude and disrespectful way of talking about anyone. Especially those who get up in the dark for peanuts to take your crap away. Shame on you.

Fucking householders. I know a bin man and they have to contend with thoughtless people parking in the road and shouting abuse when they have to wait for a few seconds, Also people who fill their black bins with garden rubble/dirty nappies and dog shit. I think they do a fab job and people who whine about a few seconds' delay would be the first to moan if their bin wasn't collected!

eggncress · 27/11/2018 08:18

They don’t want cars overtaking for safety reasons as they usually do both sides of the street at the same time if it’s narrow.

If you know when bin day is you could leave a few minutes earlier.

Sirzy · 27/11/2018 08:18

If they don’t come at the same time each eeek even better it’s only once every blue moon them trying to do their job slows you down a bit!

JugheadismyHero · 27/11/2018 08:18

Don't be thick @continuallychargingmyphone, it's bin day in your area or an area you commute through, factor extra time into your day.

rwalker · 27/11/2018 08:19

Had this other week in there 2 parked cars they could of pulled forward 5 ft and every one could of got past .Instead we had to wait while they got 14 bins ( yes i counted them whilst sat there) from the bottom of the cul de sac .

paintinmyhairAgain · 27/11/2018 08:20

the point i was making in mentioning the 1979 strikes is that people would moan even more if the bins weren't collected !

Fluffyears · 27/11/2018 08:20

I always leave 29 minutes early whether driving or walking to factor in minor inconveniences that crop up. Let them get on with it and they will move. You sound like the tears in my village who leave their homes at the very last second so speed round a blind corner where pedestrians are walking (no pavement on this road). Have had a few near misses. If they left 5 minutes before they would of be fine.

Fluffyears · 27/11/2018 08:21

Aw crap leave 10 minutes early i’m Not that crazy lol

TenForward82 · 27/11/2018 08:21

@egg nailed it. If cars can pass they often speed past and binmen have to avoid being flattened by impatient twats.

LEMtheoriginal · 27/11/2018 08:21

OP arent you just a delight Hmm

naicepineapple · 27/11/2018 08:21

Don’t be a dick jug. They don’t come at the same time every week

Presumably they come on the same day though. So whatever time you usually have to leave to get to work? Leave 10 minutes before it.

Not hard is it? Hmm

Allyg1185 · 27/11/2018 08:22

Leave early or wait but don't be THAT person

pippop1317 · 27/11/2018 08:22

What really really winds me. Is that even thou I leave my bin at the side of my drive. They never fail to leave it in the middle of the drive so you have to get out and move it to be able to get onto the drive.
Also when it school holidays they come later. Yet when it's term time they love to come at school run!

TeachesOfPeaches · 27/11/2018 08:22

There's even bin women where I live

paintinmyhairAgain · 27/11/2018 08:24

so many entitled people on here today Grin

continuallychargingmyphone · 27/11/2018 08:26

Well, leaving ten minutes earlier today would have made no difference.

It is simply that moving a few yards would have meant I and everybody else could get by. Happy days. But I am of course the unreasonable one.

You clearly consider your job more important than theirs. That’s are people on the lowest pay, doing the most unhealthy and unpleasant job imaginable, at ungodly hours. Wonder how quickly you’d be on here moaning if they didn’t come.
