To ask how many eggs you use for scrambled eggs?

Just made scrambled eggs on toast (two eggs, no milk) and they barely featured on the second piece of toast. Is three eggs too greedy?

A really lush breakfast is sliced courgette, cook in butter until soft then pour on the egg mixture. Scramble as normal then add some grated cheese right at the end.

blueskiesandforests · 21/11/2018 15:16

Perhaps people are using very different sized eggs

SchadenfreudePersonified · 21/11/2018 15:17

I find 2 slightly too few for a single slice of toast, but 3 is too many. Therefore I use 3, because I would rather have a surfeit of eggs than bit of toast with no egg.

Scrambled eggs is food of the gods, and must be treated with respect.

onthenaughtystepagain · 21/11/2018 15:17

Two and a splash of cream, the eggs we get are from the farm and we pick our own, sometimes so big we can't close the box.

PayingGuests · 21/11/2018 15:19

Three with two slices of toast. Knob of butter. In the microwave.

shearwater · 21/11/2018 15:20

Two large eggs and a good splash of milk per person. Goes well on two pieces of toast. Wholemeal toast with butter and Marmite, grated cheese on top of the eggs which melts slightly before you eat it.

Scrambled eggs without milk = omelette.

AndThereSaw · 21/11/2018 15:21

2 eggs per person usually (quite large eggs).
melted butter in pan. eggs beaten with a fork (not a whisk)with 2 tsp icy cold water per egg, salt and pepper.

Cuzcothellama · 21/11/2018 15:21

I use 2 medium or large eggs for me. They fit fine on 2 pieces of toast.

3 or sometimes 4 for DH as he's much taller than me.

diddl · 21/11/2018 15:32

"barely featured on the second piece of toast. "

That could be your problem!

Have always had one slice of toast!

festivedramallama · 21/11/2018 15:32

Nothing like an omelette😂 @shearwater

Depends how hungry I am.

If 2 toast, 2 eggs is right amount, then I make it into a sandwich 🥪

RetinolRedux · 21/11/2018 15:40

Although lately it’s been scrambled eggs and crumpets.

Bigonesmallone3 · 21/11/2018 15:42

3 average sized eggs.. 2 large eggs..
And depends on my hunger

kateandme · 21/11/2018 15:42

I don't want to put this.ihavent had them for eyars but it used to be 3 or even 4.and no we aren't obese or over eaters.this was a proper fit on two pieces of toast.again I haven't had it for a while and I expect the guilt or shame would make me reduce it now

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 21/11/2018 15:43

Three eggs piled high on one piece of granary toast for me, two eggs without toast for DD.

Oysterbabe · 21/11/2018 15:48

I do 5 large eggs for me, DH and toddler. Always 2 slices of toast, I'm a bread fan.

StoatofDisarray · 21/11/2018 15:48

3 medium eggs and no milk, or anything like that. I use a non-stick pan so no butter either.

moofolk · 21/11/2018 15:49

2 per person (or more if you fancy) but just one piece of toast.

Poached eggs are the best though. Nom nom

Moominfan · 21/11/2018 15:49

3 but I am on the fat side

zukiecat · 21/11/2018 15:51

Two or three eggs

I'm the only one in the house that likes scrambled eggs,

I don't add milk or butter as I hate both, I just add a tiny pinch of salt.

anniehm · 21/11/2018 15:51

Depends on size of eggs, 2-3 usually

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 21/11/2018 15:52

I usually only use 2 for myself - no milk, garlic salt and butter. Yum!

BarbedBloom · 21/11/2018 15:54

3 regular eggs or two large and never milk

liquidrevolution · 21/11/2018 15:55

Depends on size of egg. 2 large or 3 medium.

made with butter.

yum.

Missingstreetlife · 21/11/2018 15:56

2 large or3 medium, butter or yoghurt not milk, salt and pepper, lea and Perrin or ketchup, unless having beans too. Good with blinis or matzo, even potato cakes instead of toast
Duck eggs are bigger, a goose egg will feed 2 ppl. Great with bacon and mushroom or tomato
