kateandme · 20/11/2018 04:02

because of her autism.my cousin says her son cant do enclosed spaces.he also suffers with it.coud this be the reason she isn't doing the challenge.
and she went on to say she shouldn't be on the show because many other enclosed or space invading tasks would be happeing throughout the time in the jungle.
is she be ur to say this.i didn't no how to reply as I then thinks it very brave of anne to do this.but if they don't let her do the challnages or she get into trauma I also don't want this for her.

Yes YABU. It doesn't matter what you want for her, she's allowed reasonable adjustments to be made. I haven't watched last nights episode yet but I'm guessing she will be taking part in some tasks just not that one?

Stoppedat1 · 20/11/2018 04:42

YABU for the reasons the pp gave.

Plus, I love her Grin

Rachelover40 · 20/11/2018 04:45

It wasn't Anne's choice not to do the trial, it was the doctors being super cautious. There is always at least one who can't do some trials but the trials they do, they do well. There are plenty who are up for anything who end up not being able to perform so what's the problem?

I really like Anne, she has depth. Hope she does well.

kateandme · 20/11/2018 14:52

i love her.did my post come across as I was against her.no I am the other way.sorry I am crap at wording things clearly.
I was saying she is brave and brao for doing this.i only didn't want her to get into a situation that overhwlems her.it was my cousin who said she should be off because most challneges would upset ehr

I do take peoples points when they if they can't handle it don't go on there.
I'm absolutely terrified of heights, and I mean full on phobic not just were I'd jump out of an aeroplane and be scared I actually could not do it. There for I wouldn't do the show. Not that they'd want a randomer like me, in any case.Grin
However The producers must know about AH condition. There fore she should have been ruled out on medical grounds.

MaryPoppinsUmberellaHandle · 20/11/2018 15:03

She actually looked surprised when Dec told her she was ruled out on medical grounds.

HeddaGarbled · 20/11/2018 15:10

It might not have been because of autism. It may have been another health issue. Think about the specific challenge.

Shaboohshoobah1 · 20/11/2018 15:11

Who is she? I watched it last night and had no idea who she was (or most of the others to be fair)

Gromance02 · 20/11/2018 15:12

She shouldn't have gone on the programme. Same as the vegan, veggie, woman. Not fair that some have to do the trials and others don't.

LuckyDiamond · 20/11/2018 15:14

I wasn’t going to watch this year but I will because of The Governess.

glenthebattleostrich · 20/11/2018 15:17

Have to say, I love that she has gone on the show. It's brilliant of her to raise awareness of such a misunderstood condition.

I work with a little boy who has ASD (would have had the Asperger's diagnosis a few years ago) and it drives me potty how often I have to explain that no, he isn't naughty or rude, he is making sense of the world as best he can.

RomanyRoots · 20/11/2018 15:28

wtf is she on a programme notoriously known for having to be in enclosed spaces.
It's like wondering why a man with one leg couldn't play for UTD.

It's unfair for one contestant to gain advantages like this and I agree with her she shouldn't be there.

WhatchaMaCalllit · 20/11/2018 15:34

I've also heard that three of the other contestants on IACGMOOH will not be taking part in some of the bush tucker trials (or perhaps all of them) as they are vegan.
I'm in no way saying that they shouldn't go into the jungle but more thinking why would you put yourself through that if you are unable for whatever reason to take part fully in the programme?

Nicknacky · 20/11/2018 15:35

I actually don’t want her on this programme for the simple reason I don’t want to imagine her as anything but like her character in The Chase.

I love her.

Quartz2208 · 20/11/2018 15:37

Given that she is going tonights I suspect that it is other medical grounds that have ruled her out (fitness levels of crawling comes to mind). The older set have often been ruled out due to that (Stanley was last year)

I didn’t know she was autistic. Not a clue. I’ve only seen the first programme. She was upset at one point. I hope she’s ok.
They often have people ruled out of certain trials for different reasons.

Vampiratequeen · 20/11/2018 15:39

She isn't exempt from all trials, she doing tonight's trial. I think it was more due to her size that she couldn't do the last one.

RomanyRoots · 20/11/2018 15:41

Ubertasha never heard of you, I've been here 8 years now. Grin
Why am I a troll when I've said what others have?
She shouldn't be on the programme nor should anyone else who can't do all the challenges, including the vegans.

Wolfiefan · 20/11/2018 15:43

But the others can refuse to do them. They may not be exempt from the vote but they can say no.

sunglasses123 · 20/11/2018 15:46

A vegan shouldn't be in this programme. The eating trials are stomach turning and to wriggle out of them for vegan reasons means that they don't have to do what is potentially the hardest part of the game.

This gives them an unfair advantage

lalalalyra · 20/11/2018 15:49

They haven't confirmed the vegans will be exempt from eating challenges have they? They certainly haven't been making exemptions for them in the rations.

Anne did the Dingo Dollar challenge and was voted for tonights so she was obviously exempt for that one for a specific reason, just as others will be through the series. If you said everyone had to be able to do every single trial they'd struggle to get a filled cast!

Aeroflotgirl · 20/11/2018 15:49

Yabvvvu she can avoid things which make her stressed and anxious, she does not have to do it.

TeenTimesTwo · 20/11/2018 15:51

I don't think that not doing challenges gives an unfair advantage.

Often the resilience shown when doing challenges is what makes the public like them imo. Being ruled out of challenges puts contestants at a disadvantage I would say.

ladydickisathingapparently · 20/11/2018 15:53

I’m not a regular viewer, but surely taking part in the challenges means a greater chance of impressing viewers and being popular? So I can’t see it’s a terrific advantage to be ruled out of them.

Anyway I won’t hear a word against Anne. I think she’s marvellous. She’ll come into her own when there’s any problem solving to be done.
