I've made my husband nduja, bacon and mushroom pasta sauce but I'm going to have toast for dinner. With marmite. Yay me

Crumpets were made for Marmite MaryShelley.

You’ve been missing out your whole life. Just remember less is more to start with.

"Spread marmz, not misery"

My new life motto!!

spreadmarmznotmisery · 20/11/2018 08:15

Crumpets and marmite are the best of friends.

I've never had dairylea on a crumpet. I'll go shopping today

BentNeckLady · 20/11/2018 08:31

I’ve been thinking about marmite all night and have just had crumpets with cheese spread and marmite. It was heavenly

marvelmum · 20/11/2018 08:33

Crumpets with lots of marmite Mmmm!! Tea sorted tonight Grin

spreadmarmznotmisery · 20/11/2018 08:39

I feel like marmite dinners have been an underground thing that we've brought to the fore!

Notreallyhere23 · 20/11/2018 09:12

You’ve all gone too far now with crumpets, urgh they are the work of the devil. Horrible things!

RiverTam · 20/11/2018 11:08

crumpets are yuck, now, muffins on the other hand - delicious. Dripping with butter and jam.

I might buy some at lunchtime.

spreadmarmznotmisery · 20/11/2018 11:54

Ahh muffins! They are an amazing work of bakery. How could I forget about them!

Marmite is not invited to the muffin party though. Butter only

Notreallyhere23 · 20/11/2018 14:10

Love muffins. Although I always think of how in What Katy Did Next, Katy was so looking forward to trying English muffins in London and found them to be like buttered scorched flannels or something!

Poached eggs have to be banned, sorry.

Scrambled or eggs bread only.

Verv · 20/11/2018 15:16

Oh marmite on toast.. food of the gods. Particularly when the butter hasn't quite melted underneath it.
Its particularly good with a layer of Philadelphia cheese on top.

My girlfriend doesn't like it. Pffft.

SpitefulMidLifeAnimal · 20/11/2018 15:23

walke where did you get the nduja from? I've only ever had it on a Tesco Finest pizza but my god, it was lovely!

missmouse101 · 20/11/2018 15:24

Marmite on chunky white toast with butter and a cold glass of skimmed milk is HEAVENLY!

spreadmarmznotmisery · 20/11/2018 15:50

@SpitefulMidLifeAnimal Ocado do the proper stuff so I assume Waitrose also does. Sacla pesto people have just brought out an nduja pesto which is almost better than the pure stuff!! Just whack it with some fusilli.

ZebraOwl · 20/11/2018 16:41

Had 2 slices marmite!toast for breakfast; some difficulty fending off my cats, who refuse to believe that they are obligate carnivores but instead they delight in snaffling a whole range of my foods, including toast with marmite. I’d literally just fed them but they were squeaking madly after the deliciousness...

Tempted by the idea of more marmite!toast for tea, but am keeping a food diary at the moment & not convinced the dietitian would agree it’s a splendid choice...

spreadmarmznotmisery · 20/11/2018 16:57

Just swap dinner with breakfast. Job done.

Failydail5 · 20/11/2018 17:17

I've just been diagnosed with gestational diabetes so I'd KILL for a big pile of hot buttery toast 😩😩😩. Enjoy on my behalf.

spreadmarmznotmisery · 20/11/2018 17:19

@Failydail5 Oh that is just not fair

SpitefulMidLifeAnimal · 20/11/2018 18:02

spreadmarmz Thanks!

JeremyCorbynsBeard · 20/11/2018 18:55

Yes to Marmite but nooooooo to Lurpak. Get yourselves some proper butter. With salt in.

spreadmarmznotmisery · 20/11/2018 19:50

@JeremyCorbynsBeard Whoa whoa whoa. Lurpak has salt. Let's be clear.

MsRinky · 20/11/2018 22:36

I have my very own ceramic pot with butter and marmite mixed to my precise preferred ratio. It gives me great joy.

marvelmum · 20/11/2018 22:40

3 crumpets with marmite and a poached egg on each one Mmm!
