She’s ruining my enjoyment! She’s a professional dancer and it’s very obvious. It’s like a professional ice skater competing on Dancing on Ice, why??

But come on, it is an absolute outrage: the OP's enjoyment of the show is being RUINED because it isn't exactly what she wants it to be. Who do the BB-bloody-C think they are?!?!?! 😄

Caroline flack who won a few years ago had a dance degree she made me irrationally angry so I see where you are coming from but I like Ashley and enjoy watching them.

It's a light entertainment show- not the Olympics.

Ashley addressed the dancer thing at the start and she imo has never been little ole me modest she seems to be genuinely enjoying herself and doesn't roll out Children and Nana's on her VTs

I'm not getting that at all. She seems to be simply attacking it with professionalism. I see no real enjoyment or feeling, just competitiveness.

I do find it intereresting how people see completely different things in it.

It's nothing to do with being pretty. Why does supposed jealousy always come into it? I actually think Kate is much prettier than Ashley and I like watching her dance and would love her to be in the final.

Ashley will make the final but I doubt very much she will win. I was amazed that Caroline Flack won as I didn't even think she was the best dancer. Simon Webbe was robbed that year

I don't see real enjoyment from Ashley either. I do from all the others but not here and it's not as though she is shy so it's not coming through is it?

I think Ashley just puts on a very polished performance and I suppose she is more used to dancing for a crowd than the others so she’s not doing quite as much frothing as the others. As I’ve just said on the other Strictly thread, I don’t think there is any single thing she can do that won’t be criticised anyway!

I think having done a bit of dancing at stage school or years ago but then made your living doing something else is one thing, and I totally agree that having a mix of abilities is good for the show but Ashely is dancer for a living. Kimberley Wyatt was a judge on got to dance (I think it was called) because she and the other PCDs are dancers

Every year we have these arguments- people with dance experience shouldn’t be on- poorer dancers shouldn’t stay on in place of better ones - every year!

Ashley appears to be having the time of her life after a bereavement - much like Lisa Riley did. Good for her.

I would bet that it's not the celebrities who decide what to roll out on the VT's. It will all be carefully chosen for them .

Yes me too :( I loved him since the start of Red Dwarf back in my student days. I was so happy to see him on strictly. It just goes to show yet again that seeming "lovely" does not tell you anything.

The same ringer argument is taking place on Digital Spy. Two interesting observations from there...a) A professional dancer on there says describing Ashley as one is an insult to all professional dancers! and goes on to compare their CVs
b) That if ringerdom is unfair due to never being in danger due to judges' marks/votes so is having someone with thousands of followers in a tv show voted on by the public

All I would point out is that hours put into training are usually rewarded...they don't compare them anymore but Danny Mac put in the hours, days on end and I doubt very much that Ashley is slacking.
