And invite you to join me?
What are you brilliant at, nothing is too trivial.
What can you do exceptionally well?

I make very good gravy! Don't know why because my cooking isn't good but my gravy and sauces always come out well Confused

I am amazing at sorting out difficult situations when people are abroad. An an example I was able to sort out my DP's issue when he was in the US and his card and phone didnt work and his transfer hadn't picked him up (I was in Greece at the time). I was also able to get insurance details for my brother when he'd broken his arm in Spain. His friend had booked the holiday but hadn't told him the insurance details and he couldn't get hold of his friend. I'm the go-to person for people having problems.

Plus my roast dinners are amazing.

cheshireagain · 19/11/2018 16:38

I'm REALLY good at buying gifts

Onecutefox · 19/11/2018 16:43

How do you know that you aren't exaggerating your talents? WinkGrin

Talith · 19/11/2018 17:21

Given the random and delightfully everyday of special skills here I think if we were all exaggerating we'd have come up with something more exciting than making a decent cuppa or being good at knitting Grin

JakeBallardswife · 19/11/2018 17:27

DD got into set 1 Maths, she’s so delighted 😁 always doubts her abilities so new school great for her to feel recognised. As the youngest of mixed ability teens, she doesn’t ever get to brag!

cheapskatemum · 19/11/2018 17:33

I can decipher really crap handwriting. That’s because I used to be an English teacher in a bygone era when pupils wrote, so I got lots of practice.

AnxiousButFunnyWithIt · 19/11/2018 17:34

I’m a baby whisperer. I’m extremely motivating and a positive influence (it’s needed in my role and the one thing I score very high on in anonymous staff surveys!) and I’m really quite funny. Thanks for this post. I struggled to type all that as I’m shite at bigging myself up, only others. I’ve loved reading these. Controlling dreams would be amazing to do and I'm gonna look into it!

Vampiratequeen · 19/11/2018 17:38

I can spot spiders anywhere. I can walk in a room and find any spider.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 19/11/2018 17:40

I am ace at spelling and grammar. In every team I have worked in, I've been the go-to person for questions about spelling or grammar. Sadly the spelling one is deteriorating through reading too many wrong versions on t'internet!

I can do amazing straight backs on the trampoline. It feels like flying.

I also have a keen sense of smell. It runs in the family - my dad is like a bloodhound.

I am excellent at passing exams. I can read course material and get it all into my head in a short time period. Then I can regurgitate it in the exam beautifully. I will have forgotten it all very quickly, but it gets me through most situations! I am also one of the people who does better in exams than in classroom learning. This did not stand me in good stead at uni when I missed a lot of lectures and didn't have a complete set of lecture notes, so my super-power deserted me. However, I borrowed a friend's notes for the resit, learned a year's course of Criminal Law in a fortnight, and got a B.

I can also listen to a long and rambling discussion and pick out the key points easily. This skill has been learned in self-defence through years of listening to people ramble on.

Mummadeeze · 19/11/2018 17:47

I am very resilient. I bounce back no matter what happens and I am very good at being happy even when my life is really hard. In fact, the worse the situation, the harder I come back to rise above it. This is what I am most proud of about myself.
I was also randomly good at line dancing and long jump in my younger days.

EllenCarver · 19/11/2018 17:48

I make great roasties.

I never forget a face or a name. I also remember random trivia about people I barely know.

I’m great at dog training, especially clicker training.

I’m an amazing kisser.

Mrsmadevans · 19/11/2018 17:48

'I was also a great nurse and have amazing empathy, so much so that could feel how the patient felt...or anyone really'
Sweatpea you must be my soul sista my dear Smile it is a great gift and l think it is one that we must have been born with Flowers

LizzieBennettDarcy · 19/11/2018 17:49

I'm a really good baker. Both of my grandmothers spent hours teaching me when I was young, and it's one of my great loves. I spend hours reading recipes and my collection of books is getting a bit out of hand.

Bloody sucks that I'm now diabetic though and can't eat much of it. But I have a very happy DH and kids Grin

tolerable · 19/11/2018 17:49

i can mess up anything.absolutely.every time.its effortless

EllenCarver · 19/11/2018 17:51

Ooh reading other people’s posts reminds me of more stuff!

I’ve got a brilliant sense of smell and exceptionally good hearing. Crap eyesight though 🙄

And I’m great at spelling and grammar.

Flibbitygibbit · 19/11/2018 17:52

I'm really good at making friends with random cats. Can spot a spider a mile off. Also good at Disney planning. Cats are my thing though.

EllenCarver · 19/11/2018 17:53

Isn’t it funny but sad how hard this is? I feel really uncomfortable. The op asks for boasts so why did I feel I had to make a point of mentioning my bad eyesight? Why are we so bad at celebrating our strengths?

OhDearGodLookAtThisMess · 19/11/2018 17:56

Spelling.

Falling asleep within 60 seconds of the light going out.

Parking. I once got my large car (before the days of parking sensors) into a space about 6 inches longer than the actual car. It was right outside a crowded bar in Soho. I did it in one go, perfectly positioned front and back and the requisite distance from the kerb. I got a round of applause from all the punters in the bar.

lovetherisingsun · 19/11/2018 18:00

I can colour shade stuff to the minutest shade. I used to spray paint figure kits for people, and won a lot of competitions on the shading. That's it, that's all I can do lol. Completely useless borng skill Grin

JesusIsComingLookBusy · 19/11/2018 18:01

I’ve got an excellent memory for colour and can track down colour matches or complimentary colours for things in my home without having the item to hand (curtains to carpet for example).

HmmGrey · 19/11/2018 18:03

Amazing long term memory. Things just get stuck in my head, trivial and stuff worth remembering.

Short term memory not so good.

greenapples · 19/11/2018 18:03

I'm good a map reading. The husband doesn't like to acknowledge the fact... Unless we are up a mountain in northern Spain and in need of water, or hot footing it back to a carpark in Dublin because time was up on the ticket, or that time....etc etc etc. The list could go on

ShadowHuntress · 19/11/2018 18:04

I love cooking and can make something out of very little . It’s a talent of mine that I’m well known for. I can go into a bare minimum cupboard and make a delicious meal from it. I can also make big meals for very little costs. I’m the queen of bulking food up and feeding my family on pounds! I also make a delicious low fat carrot cake

areyoubeingserviced · 19/11/2018 18:06

I am a mine of useless information; I know the answers to the most obscure questions
I speak several languages
My spag bol is delicious
My kids all drink copious amounts of water
I am very good at public speaking

medusawashere · 19/11/2018 18:08

I am a really good singer :) not Mariah Carey but it's probably one of the only things I haven't had to work at.

However, I cannot dance. At all.
