To think Cheryl Tweedy is talking nonsense

Workreturner · 14/11/2018 12:46

In the Sunday Times interview.

Talking about her 19 month old son.
“I would spend every breathing moment with him and not do anything else”

Really?

I mean I adore my two children. And genuinely enjoy spending time with them.

But “every breathing moment”, no. And not do anything else? No

Why do these celebs do this?! Always so OTT about parenting. Is it to make themselves feel better or to make others feel inferior??

Because she's trying to rake in even more dosh same as every other greedy 'celeb'

RejuvenatingGermanJaunt · 14/11/2018 15:04

Don't be so cynical about this young woman's feelings, she's not the type to say things she doesn't mean.

Unless you happen to know her personally, how do you know this?

Birdsgottafly · 14/11/2018 15:05

Did you conveniently leave out the full paragraph for any particular reason?

Coupled with the rest of it:

"I would spend every breathing moment with him and not do anything else,” she says. “But I know that’s unhealthy. You can get lost in mummy world, and you need a piece of you to continue being right for him.”"

It makes perfect sense. She spoke openly in the interview about her anxiety and how she suffered less with it during and straight after the pregnancy.

She talks about now being in Counselling. That was the context, shutting the rest of the World out.

borderline11 · 14/11/2018 15:11

It’s amazing isn’t it? A violent thug, racist or not, and her image remains that of a ‘generally pleasant person’. Extraordinary.

I agree with this, most celebrities are going to present a pleasant persona to the world, the image they present to the world is exactly that, an image. Why do people get taken in by a pleasant pretty face. In the case of Cheryl Tweedy, her actions with the toilet attendant probably showed her true colours. The picture of the poor woman’s face was all the evidence we needed.

LittleLionMansMummy · 14/11/2018 15:12

Well tbf i’ve never heard a celeb new mum yet say they hate motherhood. It’s all usually very samey, gushing and predictable

Lily Allen said she found being a sahm "quite boring" and Adele has also been very candid about how she felt she lost herself after having a child and described struggling to come to terms with being a mum. There are plenty of sleb mums who have talked openly about it, which is really good - something new mums can relate to and not feel so alone in their thoughts and feelings. But that doesn't make those who say they immediately loved being a mum disingenuous, or make their feelings less valid. Cheryl may well be trying to revive a career by courting public attention, but it stands to reason that as she's in the media spotlight so often she's going to be asked about, and give an opinion on, what it's been like for her to become a mum.

Birdsgottafly · 14/11/2018 15:16

Rachelover40, whilst she says that she has cleaners etc, the thought of a Nanny to her was strange. Her Mum travelled to her, to help out, but other than that, she says she managed him herself. Granted, it's easier when you've got a housekeeper.

wwlookatmybabyspiderQuizzlyBear, given her background, it's not surprising that she would use colour as part of an insult. I did, growing up. We knew no better. I'm mixed heritage and my Sister looks like a Black Woman. Black people and Indian people threw racial insults around. It wasn't true Racism, we just wasn't as clued up as people now are.

She's grown up and learned better.

Do you not believe in rehabilitation and fresh starts?

Birdsgottafly · 14/11/2018 15:17

borderline11, or she was young, stupid and drunk.

One violent act doesn't make you a violent thug.

petbear · 14/11/2018 15:19

I am not a fan of Cheryl, but this banging on about something she did when she was 19 or 20 - (over 15 years ago,) is ridiculous, and just another stick to beat her with. She can't sing, her marriages are car crashes, her songs are rubbish, blah blah blah.

And the continual accusations of her being racist PURELY because the woman she got into a spat with was black, are ludicrous and boring. And it was ALLEGED that she called her a f*king black b**h! We only have the other woman's word for it.

And as for coming out with silly lines like 'yeah I have a lot of black friends so I'm not racist!' doesn't mean someone isn't a racist' She was MARRIED to a black man FFS! What kind of 'racist' marries a black man? Confused And her second husband was a dusky French man.

She may have been a yob in her teens, but she was punished at the time, and she's done nothing wrong since, and she is not a racist, so give it a rest. As for the nightclub incident, FGS are people not allowed to move on from things in the past?

She could find a cure for cancer and people would still bang on about the minor crime she committed in 2003. As someone said further back in the thread, every time Cheryl is mentioned, someone just HAS to bring up the incident from 2003. And call her a racist bitch!

Grow up FGS! Hmm

And as for starting a thread to bash her for saying how much she loves her son! How utterly pathetic! Do people seriously have nothing better to do than start threads bashing other mothers for nothing? Hmm The OP AND some posters on this thread sound so jealous and bitter, that it's laughable!

ThunderInMyHeart · 14/11/2018 15:29

It’s rumoured she got paid to marry Ashley Cole ie to be his beard

borderline11 · 14/11/2018 15:30

Fortunately most of us get through life without any violent acts.

littlelion those two you mentioned about how they feel, it could be exactly how Cheryl Tweedy feels, hence why she’s trying to revive her career, but they’re being honest. Financially she could so easily do what she says, but she isn’t..

petbear · 14/11/2018 15:31

It was rumoured she married Ashley Cole to be his beard.

Oh FFS! Just stop! Hmm

LittleLionMansMummy · 14/11/2018 15:32

Should also have said Borderline that there is no hypocrisy in wanting to spend your time with your child, while knowing you need/ want to earn money to support said child, and doing so in a way that will guarantee that income. I don't like her music, I'm not a fan of hers. But it's just a career after all, and plenty of career women say they'd love to spend all their time with their dc while acknowledging that the reality is different. Presumably, whatever her monetary worth, she still needs an income, so it stands to reason she'll do that by doing what she knows best - in this case music/ presenter/ celebrity.

borderline11 · 14/11/2018 15:34

petbear a minor crime? she was lucky she didn’t go to prison, was it fuck a minor crime.

petbear · 14/11/2018 15:35

Yes it WAS a minor crime. And she got punished for it.

Do grow up.

Birdsgottafly · 14/11/2018 15:35

borderline11, you'd be surprised how many people have committed violent acts and lots of other offences, especially as a Teenager, vwhich she was.

Which is why if you are under 21 and declare your offence it doesn't bar you from training to become a Nurse, Doctor, Teacher, SW etc.

Or is it only Men who get to be considered rehabilitated?

petbear · 14/11/2018 15:37

It's pathetic how EVERY TIME Cheryl is mentioned, along comes a post banging on about something she did YEARS ago. As has been said, people should be allowed to move on FGS! People constantly dragging stuff up like this is pathetic.

FearLoveAndTheTimeMachine · 14/11/2018 15:37

Bit of a nasty post. She’s entitled to say and feel whatever she likes about her own child?

borderline11 · 14/11/2018 15:37

littlelion she’s worth millions, she never has to work again. Incidentally i don’t blame her for wanting to, its the hypocrisy.

Birdsgottafly · 14/11/2018 15:38

borderline11, did you even read the rest of what the OP chose to leave out?

"" But I know that’s unhealthy. You can get lost in mummy world, and you need a piece of you to continue being right for him.”"

She is doing what she says.

petbear · 14/11/2018 15:39

Yeah fearlove it IS a nasty thread, with lots of nasty, bitchy, vindictive posts.

LittleLionMansMummy · 14/11/2018 15:41

She never has to Borderline, no. But perhaps she wants to. I could cut back on my work hours, take a lower paid job and just get by. But I don't want to, despite also loving spending time with my dc.

EmeraldShamrock · 14/11/2018 15:41

I think she waited a long time for him. Man after man not working out for her.
I am truly delighted she is a mam now.

borderline11 · 14/11/2018 15:41

birds only men that get rehabilitated? there’s loads of men in the public eye whose crimes have finished their careers. What’s made you think that? Confused

borderline11 · 14/11/2018 15:44

liitlelion did you not read my posts, i clearly said i don’t blame her for wanting to. I said it was the hypocrisy.

LittleLionMansMummy · 14/11/2018 15:46

there’s loads of men in the public eye whose crimes have finished their careers

There are equally many who continue to rise to the top, whatever comes crawling out of the woodwork! I'm looking at you, Trump!
