Talking about her 19 month old son.
“I would spend every breathing moment with him and not do anything else”

Really?

I mean I adore my two children. And genuinely enjoy spending time with them.

But “every breathing moment”, no. And not do anything else? No

Why do these celebs do this?! Always so OTT about parenting. Is it to make themselves feel better or to make others feel inferior??

littlelion most people don’t abuse their children, hardly worthy of a mention. She had no need to come out with the bullshit, most of us dote on our babies, but making out she can’t bear to leave him is is untrue. She’s trying to revive her music career.

Borderline many do though. My point is that I really can't get worked up about a loving parent talking about their love for their child. In any walk of life. Would people rather hear she detests being a parent and is really struggling? I don't care who she is or what she does, but seemingly there are lots who follow her and are interested enough to comment here. I'm pleased she's enjoying parenthood, as I would be if she was a next door neighbour.

I just find it insensitive, there are lots of parents who would love to be in a position for a career break or even just an extended maternity/ paternity period but financially the opportunity is not a possibility. She has choices most could only dream of.

My opinion won't be popular but what I will say is this, why have children and be so quick to get away from them? In my view there's nothing wrong with spending a lot of time with the child/children you chose to bring into this world. And I know people are being very literal about the 'spending every second together' but in my view particularly when you're a single parent, you don't have the choice whether you get free time or not...Yes other things need to be done which is why a sling was created. Think this also come down to how much money you have, what support you have and how many people look after the child. I'd say in the celeb view point like another commenter mentioned, she probably wishes she could spend more time with her child when she's not working or she works a lot so when she's off work, she spend all of that time with her child and classes that as spending 'every second'? I just don't think it's a bad thing if that was the case. I thought she was taking time out? What work is she doing at the moment? She's not on the X factor and as far as I'm aware she's not making music, so I was just wondering? She definitely hasn't got as much on her plate compared to her younger days so I can see why she thinks she spends a lot of time with her baby.

They are rich black men I have a client whose ex husband was black has mixed race child and has never liked black women and says horribly racist things about her ex.

I don't get why she's criticised for changing her name, she had her husbands'second names when she was married and has now reverted to her maiden name. Can someone explain what's wrong with that? I have more than one friend who has done similar, it's normal isn't it?

Well tbf i’ve never heard a celeb new mum yet say they hate motherhood. It’s all usually very samey, gushing and predictable. Good luck to her, i hope she enjoys motherhood, but if she really can’t bear to leave him why would she revive her music career. That means time apart, nothing wrong with that, but it kind of negates what she says.

That comment alone isn’t all that strange and I think a lot of parents do feel the same way. However, combined with what she’s said in other interviews about how the only relationship she needs now is the one with her son and she doesn’t need men any more and how “Bear is the man in my life now” are a bit worrying.

The child should be allowed to be a child and not be expected to fulfil the role of “the man in her life”, he doesn’t need to grow up feeling the need to emotionally support his mother. He’s not her spouse, he’s her son and she shouldn’t be confusing the two.

It’s emotionally incestuous and exactly what my mother did to me. I hope Bear at least gets the chance of a carefree childhood and the chance to become independent of his mum.

I didn’t know she used the words ‘fucking black bitch’ when she beat up the toilet attendant @eniledam - you’re right then, she’s definitely a racist. I just assumed she saw the attendant as somehow ‘less’ than her because she performed a menial task and Cheryl thought her own shit didn’t stink.
