To think Cheryl Tweedy is talking nonsense

Workreturner · 14/11/2018 12:46

In the Sunday Times interview.

Talking about her 19 month old son.
“I would spend every breathing moment with him and not do anything else”

Really?

I mean I adore my two children. And genuinely enjoy spending time with them.

But “every breathing moment”, no. And not do anything else? No

Why do these celebs do this?! Always so OTT about parenting. Is it to make themselves feel better or to make others feel inferior??

To be fair, she didn't make her name on the back of her towering intellect.

borderline11 · 14/11/2018 13:12

Easy for millionaires to talk that way. She could very easily do that if she wanted, but she’s talking crap, i don’t know anyone who would want to do that.

PattiStanger · 14/11/2018 13:14

The nonsense about her changing face is even more nonsensical

Wkbeans · 14/11/2018 13:16

borderline11 Easy for millionaires to say that? Easy for me to say it too. Not a millionaire. You clearly don't know many nurturing parents!

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 14/11/2018 13:17

I did this until my son was four and started school nursery. I lived it but I definitely wanted time out at times.

bobstersmum · 14/11/2018 13:18

Eniledam, she obviously isn't racist though is she? Remember she was Cheryl Cole, and her best friend is Will I am!

HopeHopity · 14/11/2018 13:19

I agree though. I didn't love the baby stage but I am loving it now. I want to spend all my time with my DC of 20 months.
What is wrong with that? People are different.

HopeHopity · 14/11/2018 13:20

I am more concerned about her new video. Those boots still haunt my dreams OP

RoboticSealpup · 14/11/2018 13:20

Ok... So why isn't she doing that instead of dancing around in silly boots to music nobody listens to?

Chocolate1984 · 14/11/2018 13:20

But she is wealthy enough she could choose to spend every breathing moment with him and she doesn’t.

Gardai · 14/11/2018 13:23

I think I would confidently say she should spend every breathing moment with him and stop pretending to be a singer.

puzzledlady · 14/11/2018 13:28

So many issues in the world and you question why she said what she said? It’s a nice sentiment isn’t it? It’s not like she said I hate my child and I don’t want to see him unless I have to. She’s said something nice, she’s a new mother and in the whole bubble of first born baby love - I fail to see why this is an issue? She’ll be damned if she does, damned if she doesn’t.

DerelictWreck · 14/11/2018 13:29

Eniledam, she obviously isn't racist though is she? Remember she was Cheryl Cole, and her best friend is Will I am

AH the old ' I'm not a racist one of my friends is black/knows a black person/ has black servants' chestnut. Great to see how far we've come.

BertramKibbler · 14/11/2018 13:30

Celebs always go OTT with their public declarations of love. They obviously love their spouse/ kids but I don’t think they think about what they’re saying, it just sounds good

AngelaSchrute · 14/11/2018 13:31

She's just being soppy about her baby.

There's nothing wrong with that.

TheSpottedZebra · 14/11/2018 13:31

It's possible that her record contact demands that she get back and make more music, I suppose.

seventhgonickname · 14/11/2018 13:32

Sometimes you gave to remind yourself of how much you love your toddler so that you don't throttle them our leave home.

LittleLionMansMummy · 14/11/2018 13:33

Meh. There are days when I feel like this. Then there are others, like today, when almost 2yo dd is behaving exactly like a tiny drunken dictator and I can't wait to wave her off to the cm.

Good luck to her if she feels like this. Rather see a parent who feels this way than one who doesn't give a fuck and abuses their child.

1981m · 14/11/2018 13:34

She also said the reason her face looks like does is become of giving birth. What a load of rubbish. You're face doesn't change giving birth.

borderline11 · 14/11/2018 13:38

wkbeans yes easy for millionaires to say, she was talking bullshit. She’s just done a new album. Was she “nurturing” then?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 14/11/2018 13:39

All that Mrs Tumbliness just isn't real life, though. People don't live like that. I certainly dont. Idolise our children as we all do, IRW people just don't "wanting to spend 25/8 with anyone not even our kids.

dawnacorns · 14/11/2018 13:40

I feel like I did spend every breathing moment with them when they were that age. I seem to remember not being able to have a wee or a shower without them being parked in the room in a bouncy chair.

Patroclus · 14/11/2018 13:42

If you read the reports of the incident there isnt anywhere near enough to conclude shes racist. A scummy club manager seems to have been at the bottom of it.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 14/11/2018 13:43

Is she Cheryl Tweedy this week.
I wish she'd make her mind upHmm

AngelaSchrute · 14/11/2018 13:43

Well, she is quoted saying her face has changed since her son was born, not that the act of giving birth changed it.

I think that's fair enough.

Lack of sleep, weight fluctuation, hormones.

(I have no idea how I ended up defending Cheryl Tweedy on MN :o)
