How much do you earn per anum before tax? What is your current position/job/career? Do you enjoy it?

wewillrememberthem · 12/11/2018 19:27

@cstaff £46K? Are you in the south? They're not paid £20k in my neck of the woods!

Lifeisabeach09 · 12/11/2018 19:28

@lordofmyflies

Private healthcare practitioner - £30K a year for 3 days a week

Can I be nosy and ask what this is?

cojmum · 12/11/2018 19:29

Per month, I think it's something like £19,500 pa, but I am doing a Career related degree so that will increase.

Mayhemmumma · 12/11/2018 19:30

15k part time social worker. Lots of flexibility and I am based at home. Really tough assessments but on the whole it's going ok.

Lifeisabeach09 · 12/11/2018 19:32

@IAmNotLikeThem

Holy crap! What area is that?

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 12/11/2018 19:34

I'm a caseworker for an MP. I work part time and earn 19,000.
I love it although it is sometimes stressful. I'd find it emotionally draining full time I reckon.

whiteroseredrose · 12/11/2018 19:38

@Eminybob Skipton Building Society?

I'm earning c. £20k working in admin in a pensions company and I love it. I never take work home. I can do 9-5 if I want or do overtime at time and a half. Great pension. No stress and I'm a 15 min drive from home.

Someone asked didn't everyone want a better paid job? No no no!! With higher pay comes responsibility and stress. No thanks.

IAmNotLikeThem · 12/11/2018 19:44

LifeisaBeach It’s a blend of financial services, law and accountancy and (I now realise) a bit of marketing to get the fee. If I say more I’ll be outing myself. It’s just bloody boring. I’d get the same or a better buzz doing so many other things, but not the money. Trapped. I go to bed early to escape it sometimes.

Eminybob · 12/11/2018 19:52

whiteroseredrose

No, Nationwide.

mydietstartsmonday · 12/11/2018 19:55

133,000 p/a including bonus.
I am a lucky Fokker right place right time.
I work in a specialist area, kind of fell into the job and worked my way up.

Lifeisabeach09 · 12/11/2018 19:57

@IAmNotLikeThem

Thanks for indulging my curiosity.:)

@ezeria, the disparity in incomes is pretty damn amazing. I definitely need a new line of work!!!!

HCP, part time, £18,000 plus overtime

MoveOnTheCards · 12/11/2018 20:01

PR, £105k plus benefits. It’s hard work, frustrating at times but fun for the most part and I get to work on some really interesting clients and projects.

shakethatass · 12/11/2018 20:03

Office manager for a financial institution

cstaff · 12/11/2018 20:04

coolwalking · 12/11/2018 20:06

SunlightComingThroughTheHaze · 12/11/2018 20:07

£34k, psychotherapist. Love my job. Very flexible and rewarding. Will rise to £37k next June after my first year qualified and then £40k the year after that. Then a slow rise over the subsequent few years to around £45k.

Find these threads fascinating. I was on £10k before training.

SunlightComingThroughTheHaze · 12/11/2018 20:12

£32K social worker with older adults. Love my job but it's never going to be well paid, but I do have a good work life balance.

Major lols at this. What planet are you on!?

CottonSock · 12/11/2018 20:15

36k full time equivalent in a lovely job as environmental specialist. Would earn more in private sector. Role fits around kids.

Claracracksthenut · 12/11/2018 20:18

Nursing sister in a specialist field , part time so around 1700 per month ( after tax). I work quite a few nights and weekends so many assumed wrongly I am a SAHM. Nope a juggling working mum!
Do I like my job??? The actual job can be amazing and can be the worst job in the world. I can’t stand my manager so moving to a new job soon ( same pay).

SunlightComingThroughTheHaze · 12/11/2018 20:22

I’m also a qualified social worker and so can command a decent salary due to having a core profession plus additional postgrad training in psychotherapy and some lower qualifications in counselling (I’m not a trained counsellor so that’s just an extra). I worked eighty hours per week for months at a time to make ends meet during my SW training so definitely feel I’ve earned my £34k 😂

These threads pop up from time to time and I am not sure why. I got salary envy terribly when I was younger and worked stupid hours, sometimes three jobs to earn more.

I think it’s because people are nosy about money and it’s rarely discussed offline!

NapoleonsNose · 12/11/2018 20:22

19k full time admin. Reasonable salary for this part of the world, boss is very laid back and flexible but it's a bit boring at times.

Mummadeeze · 12/11/2018 20:23

Between 50-60k. Management level in TV broadcasting. Totally love my job. It is fun and non-stressful. Am v lucky.

Greywind1523 · 12/11/2018 20:26

Blueberry001 · 12/11/2018 20:32

daphine2004 · 12/11/2018 20:35
