To still be cross at Jeremy Corbin's anorak

It's 11 hours after the event, but at the cenotaph amongst all of the black coats stood Jeremy Corbin in a blue anorak with hood flapping, is this really the best he could do?

Maybe he should have worn a Hugo Boss suit ?

sssh..he'll be accused of being a out of touch champagne socialist next..

BoardingSchoolMater · 11/11/2018 23:14

Slightly at a tangent, but to all those who mention 'expensive coats': you can get a decent black wool coat for less than a tenner in a charity shop. My DS has one for school (£8). JC ought to try it. There is no excuse to look scruffy in that situation, unless you are trying to make a thoroughly unnecessary point.

W0rriedMum · 11/11/2018 23:14

@TheFatberg
Given his failure to stamp out anti-Semitism in his party, I don't think he has the high ground frankly. He is not a bad man but he's ineffectual and would rather be left to his allotment and fringe meetings.

flossietoot · 11/11/2018 23:14

But why exactly is what he is wearing important? He was wearing a black suit.

VenusInSpurs · 11/11/2018 23:15

Foot’s coat wasn’t actually a donkey jacket, of course. It was a smart expensive wool cost but not full length and not black.

Corbyn was far ‘scruffier’, with his hood out. Not that I think it is genuinely important.

He held his wreath much lower than everyone else in the line, too.

And my phone just autocorrected to ‘Corbin’!

tinstar · 11/11/2018 23:15

I'd prefer him to concentrate on tackling poverty, austerity etc. I don't think this will be hampered by his dress sense.

Maybe ..... just maybe ..... he might have the ability to wear a black coat when appropriate AND tackle poverty etc. It's really not one or the other 🙄

PunkrockerGirl59 · 11/11/2018 23:16

You lost all credibility before you even started here OP. If you can't be bothered to even spell the bloke's name correctly then I certainly can't be bothered to engage with you.

Andro · 11/11/2018 23:16

Whether or not wearing a blue anorak ought to be an issue, anyone who has seen the remembrance day service at the cenotaph knows that it is a very formal event. An anorak is not formal, that's why it stands out like a sore thumb. Rightly or wrongly it sends a message, that message being that he cannot be bothered to follow the dress code for dignitaries attending the service (whether written or unwritten, the dress code is understood and Corbyn was appropriately attired last year so this decision not to abide by it this year baffles me - but so do many things about Corbyn!). The impression is one of disrespect, for the soldiers who gave their lives and for those left behind - whether intentional or otherwise.

LurpakIsTheOnlyButter · 11/11/2018 23:17

Oh f off. If that is the most important thing you've taken from today op you need to get a life

RubberBabyBuggyBumpers · 11/11/2018 23:17

What an absolute cunt wearing a dark BLUE coat. How disrespectful to our brave boys. Everyone knows black is the only colour to wear, nothing else has been spoken about for the last 100 years! Also the bigger the poppy the more respect shown. I've got a ten foot poppy I wear. It really hurts my neck but I feel it makes the point that I am more respectful than everyone else so I wear it with pride.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 11/11/2018 23:18

One is important the other is manufactured triviality.

jasjas1973 · 11/11/2018 23:18

In 2015, Corbyn stayed behind to talk to WW2 veterans, got flamed because he then missed a banquet lunch for the rich and famous, its in Labour manifesto to better fund veterans....

WTF has a coat got to do with honouring anyone? will the dead arise and complain? Isn't it better to judge our politicians on how they treat our living ex service men and women?

Ohb0llocks · 11/11/2018 23:18

'MAN IN WATERPROOF COAT SHOCKER OUTDOORS IN ENGLAND IN NOVEMBER'

Give over. I cannot believe people are actually so outraged about this

LasMeninas · 11/11/2018 23:18

He was there, he looked like a petulant teenager, I can't believe that he doesn't have a decent coat

Lol. The British public are quite funny. No wonder the country is in such a mess.

Get a life, OP.

belfastbosoms · 11/11/2018 23:20

PopcornWizard I don't read the Daily Mail. However as unfortunately there will be a whole load of people who sadly think this is a heinous crime, no doubt I'll be treated to seeing how that shitrag covers it tomorrow on my Facebook feed.

That twitter link probably covers it the best. An actual WW2 veteran calling out the ridiculousness of people being "cross" about this.

noblegiraffe · 11/11/2018 23:20

I think Corbyn is a tosser so when I saw him in his dog-walking jacket sticking it to the man, that just confirmed my view.

DogInATent · 11/11/2018 23:21

So many thing he could be criticised for, but the level of intelligent public debate revolves around his anorak.

By the way, anyone know who David Lidington is? Given that world heads of state gathered to commemorate in Paris followed by a Peace Forum, the UK governments representative seemed to be a non-entity and was sat at the children's table for the lunch. Our new isolation as one of the Little Nations begins.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 11/11/2018 23:23

But why exactly is what he is wearing important? He was wearing a black suit

Because he is REPRESENTING our country.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 11/11/2018 23:23

If only Corbyn was interested in tackling poverty ... Perhaps he should start by not being in lockstep with the Tories on Brexit, austerity and UC.

Ubertasha2 · 11/11/2018 23:24

Maybe Abbott chooses his clothes?

Dontsweatthelittlestuff · 11/11/2018 23:24

He always dressses like he has been shopping at the Sally Army so today is no different.
Part of his persona as a working class man of the people rather than the middle class prep boy millionaire he is.

Rather ironic, don't you think PunkrockerGirl59? Glad that you agree that a small detail overlooked means that you lack credibility..... difference being of course that I'm on the sofa at home and not making a statement in front of millions
