To still be cross at Jeremy Corbin's anorak

It's 11 hours after the event, but at the cenotaph amongst all of the black coats stood Jeremy Corbin in a blue anorak with hood flapping, is this really the best he could do?

Tony Blair was also there. He started a war which led to the death of hundreds of thousands of civilians. And it’s Jeremy Corbyn’s coat that makes you angry. YABVVVVVVVU

malificent7 · 13/11/2018 23:44

His coat is perfectly acceptable. He can't do right from Adam can he?

HauntedPencil · 13/11/2018 23:46

Blairites! I KNEW it.

KissingInTheRain · 13/11/2018 23:54

Oh no, please not the call to arms against Blairites.

It’ll be the binding of demons next.

malificent7 · 13/11/2018 23:54

I was expecting to see a scruffy bright blue Mac in the sac...when I googled it I saw a perfectly smart navy coat from M and S. He was wearing a tie and carrying a poppy wreath. Wtf is the fuss about?

Miscible · 13/11/2018 23:54

He managed to dress appropriately in 2017 for Remembrance Day but chose yesterday to make a statement.

Or, just maybe, he saw that it was raining and decided to have the sense to wear a raincoat.

FFS, whilst hundreds of British servicemen and civilians were dying every day, Churchill chose to wear a boiler suit. I hate to think what would have happened if we'd had social media then.

malificent7 · 13/11/2018 23:56

A statement would have been a pink jacket or a sequinned top hat. A navy raincoat is about as non statement as it comes.

What about the hood? Did you like the hood?

I thought it was excellent. A really smart hood.

Miscible · 14/11/2018 00:02

It was a very poor show, but what else do you expect from the party that wrecked the UK?

Good grief, we're currently living under a government that is hell-bent on leading the UK into the abyss and you claim that a party that hasn't been in power for over eight years "wrecked the UK". Surely at some point the Conservatives have to start taking at least some responsibility for the state of the nation?

dawnacorns · 14/11/2018 00:05

YANBU. What, if he ever stopped being so useless and became PM is he going to wear an anorak when he meets with heads of state and so on? Or a jumper?
He needs to grow up.

dawnacorns · 14/11/2018 00:06

Yes. And Labour are doing sweet FA about it in terms of opposition

HeddaGarbled · 14/11/2018 00:10

IT WASN’T A FUCKING ANORAK - IT WAS AN M&S RAINCOAT.

KissingInTheRain · 14/11/2018 00:10

With a hood.

HauntedPencil · 14/11/2018 00:11

This is my favourite thread of all time.

ToftyAC · 14/11/2018 00:14

YABU. If all people can focus on is a bloke’s raincoat on a rainy day, when he’s wearing a very nice suit underneath is focusing on all the wrong things. And I’ve found that rubbish like this is pandered by the media when the current government are up to no good. There really are more important things to deal with.

BonfireOfTheVanities4 · 14/11/2018 00:34

This thread is fucking hilarious 😂😂

KissingInTheRain · 14/11/2018 00:35

This raincoat/anorak dispute is a battle for the soul of the party.

I’m definitely on the anorak side.

Catmeouws · 14/11/2018 00:46

I thought the Queen looked really glum too and she didn't sing the National Anthem. I watched it all on Red Button which is so much better than BBC1 because there isn't any commentary.

popcornwizard · 14/11/2018 01:20

.continued, pressed too soon.
You've had your arse handed to you on a plate on this thread, and rightly so for obvious reasons.
But don't blame autocorrect for the fact that you were too lazy/oblivious to check the spelling of the name of the public figure that you chose to criticise on a huge public forum before pressing the post button. You got called out on it, deal with it, stop whining about it and trying to make excuses. HTH

Punkrockergirl59 you are my very favourite poster on this thread. Why on earth do you have such a bee in your bonnet about my phone changing Corbyn to Corbin (actually did it again just then Shock).

Sometimes technology is one step ahead - in your case it appears to be 46 minutes ahead. Once again I point out the irony. And rather appropriately, Vic Reeves Big Night Out is on the TV right now Grin

I actually think he would probably...

thegreatbeyond · 14/11/2018 02:56

Is the Queen supposed to sing the anthem? I mean, asking God to save herself is sort of weird...

As for Jeremy, I feel reassured that he dresses sensibly, having anticipated the weather conditions. It is why I vote for him - I could not trust a man who took a cavalier attitude to arriving prepared.

1forAll74 · 14/11/2018 03:29

I thought he looked a bit scruffy, maybe he was going train spotting afterwards. I am not bothered what he wears, he is not bothered what he wears, and mostly nobody else is bothered either, not even the Queen. !

VanillaSugary · 14/11/2018 06:31

The Queen NEVER sings the National Anthem. What would she sing? God Save one's gracious one?
