To still be cross at Jeremy Corbin's anorak

It's 11 hours after the event, but at the cenotaph amongst all of the black coats stood Jeremy Corbin in a blue anorak with hood flapping, is this really the best he could do?

It wasn't tweed, my memory was playing up. More courduroy or velour.

BorisBogtrotter · 13/11/2018 14:11

"Boris, are you saying if Labour get in they won't adopt it?"

Nope, but the Tories would have done so already if they didn't have to rely on the ultra conservative DUP.

KissingInTheRain · 13/11/2018 14:16

I love the old trots and their dress sense. It’s a badge.

It’s like Tony Benn (you remember him: Viscount Stansgate) and his affectation of drinking only tea and only out of mugs - like a good working class person would. In his world.

It takes a lot of thought to dress in a way that no-one else has for fifty years. And to advocate policies that no-one else has since the fall of Honecker. (Apart from the recent leaders of Venezuela of course, a regime Corbyn is very keen on.)

JosephineDupont · 13/11/2018 14:17

I rock a similar vibe tbf!

Found it quite difficult to dress for Sunday myself.

JokersRus · 13/11/2018 14:19

I think there are far more worse things in the world to get het up about. So yeah I think yabu. It's just a coat. Get over it!

Ohb0llocks · 13/11/2018 14:27

I can't believe this thread is still going and that people are actually enraged by a 69 year old man in a cagoule.

nicslackey · 13/11/2018 14:34

op. Could you be any more shallow?

HauntedPencil · 13/11/2018 14:34

How dare you call that smart waterproof coat a cagoule?

Now I'm really enraged.

Chocolatedeficitdisorder · 13/11/2018 14:47

Corbyn's wardrobe buddy. How very dare he.

Actually, if there were two politicians out there who could be trusted to be humane above all else, it would be Corbyn and Trudeau. Blue anoraks are for men who care more about others than their own image.

To still be cross at Jeremy Corbin's anorak
HauntedPencil · 13/11/2018 15:45

I've heard it all now.

Mind you never saw Jesus in a navy did you?

SillySallySingsSongs · 13/11/2018 17:26

Actually, if there were two politicians out there who could be trusted to be humane above all else, it would be Corbyn

Yeah of course. Hmm

Leapfrog44 · 13/11/2018 17:27

WTF? Why should it matter what one wears?

'Prince Philip is always impeccably turned out'

The Monarchy cost the taxpayer £300m, so it's unsurprising they have some VERY expensive clobber.

Leapfrog44 · 13/11/2018 17:28

£300million per year I mean!!

user1468942365 · 13/11/2018 17:33

It doesn't matter how expensive it otherwise. All grown men in school coats with hoods look silly.

LasMeninas · 13/11/2018 17:35

I only vote for politicians who wear something brown on election day. That's how I choose.

MrsRonaldWeasley · 13/11/2018 17:35

Wow! You are being totally unreasonable. The man was there to show his respects... appearances don’t matter in the slightest!

MercedesDeMonteChristo · 13/11/2018 17:37

To be honest I was convinced Vince Cable was wearing trainers. This is the biggest pile of bs really but lots of people have already made the warmonger vs anorak wearer comparison so ...

2rebecca · 13/11/2018 17:37

It's about looking professional and a blue anorak on such an important occasion did show that looking smart and respectful wasn't a priority for him. Armed forces events are usually smart and the veterans tend to appreciate officials looking as though they have made an effort for the occasion.
If he's still stuck in a student "what I wear doesn't matter I am more important than social protocol" mentality he doesn't deserve to lead the country. He isn't a pennyless student

Leapfrog44 · 13/11/2018 17:37

@user1468942365 OP was saying 'Prince Philip is always impeccably turned out'. Yeah of course he is, we pay millions of pounds to clothe the Royals.

Leapfrog44 · 13/11/2018 17:38

@nicslackey high five!

QueenCarrot · 13/11/2018 17:39

I’m ‘cross’ about homeless ex servicemen dying on the streets and about 4m + children living in poverty in one of the richest countries in the world. I’m ‘cross’ about the way our NHS is being treated and about the way the most vulnerable in society are being scapegoated. I don’t give a fuck what Corbyn wore to the Remembrance events. Ok, if he’d turned up stark naked with a poppy on his dick I would have been judgy, but a perfectly respectable navy jacket, nah, can’t get het up about that. All that frothing and media coverage just shows a seriously skewed sense of priorities - or a very successful attempt at diverting attention

user1468942365 · 13/11/2018 17:42

Prince Phillip would also look silly in a child's coat! It's the coat. Any grown man in a child's hooded school coat in any situation looks ridiculous. That overrides party politics and totals. Even the hysterical Corbyn cult. They are creepy. Smile

user1468942365 · 13/11/2018 17:43

Royals stupid phone!

thecatsabsentcojones · 13/11/2018 17:45

I was wondering earlier what type of dick would get all het up about a choice of raincoat when millions lost their lives...

BackBoiler · 13/11/2018 17:45

Some people just look untidy he is one of them
