To still be cross at Jeremy Corbin's anorak

popcornwizard · 11/11/2018 22:10

It's 11 hours after the event, but at the cenotaph amongst all of the black coats stood Jeremy Corbin in a blue anorak with hood flapping, is this really the best he could do?

He choose to upset people by wearing it

This is getting more ridiculous! People get upset about the most ridiculous things! You seriously think he put that coat on with the deliberate intention to 'upset' people?!
You choose to be upset. He can't make you upset by wearing a particular coat.
I doubt it would have crossed his mind that people are that thick they would get upset about a bleedin' coat when they should be thinking about more important things.

Wednesdaypig · 13/11/2018 12:40

There would be far more poor and hungry people under Socialism. We also probably wouldn't even be allowed this thread because socialism comes with a nice blob of oppression and censorship on the side.

Lol! Sounds like something Boris Johnson or a Christmas cracker might say

BlackInk · 13/11/2018 12:44

...Because how good a person you are is directly related to how smartly or expensively you dress...?

Look at those lovely sharp suits Donald Trump wears, and David Cameron...

Seriously? We have more people going hungry under this government than for God knows how many years before and certainly than under a socialist government.
We also have thousands more without a home.
Do you not bother to find out about what is actually going on now? Are you blind to the situation people who are worse off than you are experiencing?
Your comment about not being allowed this thread under socialism is too fucking ridiculous to take seriously.

HauntedPencil · 13/11/2018 12:48

Some people do in fact know what's going on, but have little faith in the magic grandad to solve anything.

I know people like to think you are either with Corbyn or a heartless person who is happy to trample on the poor, but I can assure you that isn't the case.

BorisBogtrotter · 13/11/2018 12:49

"There would be far more poor and hungry people under Socialism."

Except no one is proposing a communist government, the Labour manifesto was very in line with German and Nordic economic policies where inequality of wealth/income ( and their impacts) is a much lower issue.

purits · 13/11/2018 12:50

@purits I can't imagine it was sprung upon her
arf. No, I said it looked like it was sprung on her.
It was a strange choice for one so senior to make.

purits · 13/11/2018 12:53

Yep. Just look at the feminist boards: Labour throwing women under the bus in favour of the trans movement, and purging females who object.

derxa · 13/11/2018 12:54

I know people like to think you are either with Corbyn or a heartless person who is happy to trample on the poor, but I can assure you that isn't the case. Well said

BorisBogtrotter · 13/11/2018 12:55

"socialism comes with a nice blob of oppression and censorship on the side"

Really, haven't noticed this in social democracies, are you perhaps getting confused with communism?

BorisBogtrotter · 13/11/2018 12:56

"Labour throwing women under the bus in favour of the trans movement, and purging females who object."

Yet the reform of the gender recognition act is being led by the tories and this is one of their policies.

Ooh wait, we mentioned self Id on a thread, its going to be invaded by the howling masses now.

he didn't he knew perfectly well what he was doing. He choose to upset people by wearing it.

Exactly, always pushing the boundaries and not conforming even for those who fought and paid the ultimate sacrifice. Disgraceful. If the nation has agreed he looked a scruffy bugger then that's what he looks.

And as some sensible posters like Gingerrogered pointed out, we'd be far more f**ked under Labour's socialism - God knows what it would be like if McDonnell got his hands on power.

longwayoff · 13/11/2018 13:06

LasMeninas, you should receive an award for that observation.

HauntedPencil · 13/11/2018 13:08

"Self ID" wasn't invented by the Tories, You know.

Waaa the Tories but look over there Boris Johnson isn't the answer to all and any criticisms of the Labour Party.

Limensoda · 13/11/2018 13:11

Except 'the nation' hasn't agreed.
Unless you and the anti Corbyn mob are the Nation?
Oh, the arrogance!

Justanotherlurker · 13/11/2018 13:12

Do you not bother to find out about what is actually going on now? Are you blind to the situation people who are worse off than you are experiencing?

Plenty of people do, I notice how stormfront and David Duke all back Corbyn, I notice how the rhetoric around Corbyn not being like other politicians has been quietly dropped now he has been leader of the party for a few years, I note how Corbyn has been very eurosceptic throughout his career, I also notice how the last manifesto made no mention of undoing many of the benefit cuts that the tories introduced.

But then again, I'm enlightened and read the Canary!

There really are the baying mob out here today.

Oh and BTW, the Tories are in government, it is their policy to change the act.

"Waaa the Tories but look over there Boris Johnson isn't the answer to all and any criticisms of the Labour Party."

No one has said anything about that, except the factual point that the changes to the gender act suggested are being proposed by the current Conservative government.

Factual.

HauntedPencil · 13/11/2018 13:21

I think he looked really nice that day in Tunis when he layed that wreath.

Classic white shirt with some pens in his pocket

HauntedPencil · 13/11/2018 13:23

Boris, are you saying if Labour get in they won't adopt it? Because they all but have.

I don't actually get what point it is your making but please let's not get waylaid from talking about Jeremy's outfits with bringing up self Id.

AgathaRaisinDetra · 13/11/2018 13:36

@HauntedPencil Did I read that correctly? ShockShockShockShock

JosephineDupont · 13/11/2018 13:45

I liked Jeremy's tweed jacket days best.

Just idly googling to remind myself of his tweedy era when I found that GQ magazine actually ran an article saying he is the only party leader with " true personal" style.

Having one's own style may be a bit of a dog whistle in the fashion world I suspect..

Retired Postman Fashion

I think I could get on board with that tbh
