To still be cross at Jeremy Corbin's anorak

It's 11 hours after the event, but at the cenotaph amongst all of the black coats stood Jeremy Corbin in a blue anorak with hood flapping, is this really the best he could do?

He is a twat. He did it last year too, turned up looking like he’d been dragged through the hedge backwards. When people have given their lives so you can enjoy the freedom we all have today the VERY LEAST you can do is make a effort to look smart. Turning up looking scruffy is saying “I don’t give a fuck”. It’s the same as turning up to a funeral looking like unkempt, extremely disrespectful. He does this deliberately as he’s not a stupid man, he knows what attention it will bring and that makes it all the more distasteful.

JosephineDupont · 12/11/2018 08:12

Op yabu.

It's his style in every way. You are giving him the negative energy he appears to thrive on.

MrsGollach · 12/11/2018 08:14

He reminds me of Steptoe.

BlueEyedPersephone · 12/11/2018 08:15

My dh and I commented on actually how this year he seemed to have made more of an effort and actually sang. I think it should not matter what someone wears but how they remember, that said if I was being paid £000's by the tax payer and elected to post I would think that his poor judgement is why he should never be prime minister. Not his lack of wool coat on a wet day

SillySallySingsSongs · 12/11/2018 08:15

I'm more pissed off he didn't attend the service of remembrance on Saturday.

Lumpy76 · 12/11/2018 08:15

I was going to vote Conservative but damn! Those kitten heels Mrs May!

peardropexplodes · 12/11/2018 08:19

He obviously doesn't give a shit unless it's some sort of terrorist funeral.

mummmy2017 · 12/11/2018 08:20

Your point about him not bothering is the main one, this is not an event to stand out, or make a point.... If he can't see that how can you trust him to be voted to the job of PM... This is a massive red flag to voters, for want of a £90 coat of the Internet...

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 12/11/2018 08:21

WANKER

BartholinsSister · 12/11/2018 08:24

At least he wasn't wearing a swastika.

Gaspodethetalkingdog · 12/11/2018 08:33

If you look at pictures of proper politicians, even if you don’t like them, they all look smart - even the dreaded Trump. It is part of the game of politics, he is very well paid and I am sure you can buy a black Mac from M&S or where ever for a small sum.

GerdaLovesLiIi · 12/11/2018 08:34

I think it's important that he wears what he wants to wear. It tells us all we need to know about him.

crochetmonkey74 · 12/11/2018 08:36

He is anti war- his policy LITERALLY honours the fallen by trying for it not to happen again.
Politicians who continue to send innocents to death don't get flak because they wear the right coat???
baffling.

irregularegular · 12/11/2018 08:37

Meh. This is beyond unimportant.

PiperPublickOccurrences · 12/11/2018 08:39

It's like Michael Foot all over again. And he was never PM either.

Hisaishi · 12/11/2018 08:39

Man wears jacket, nation in shock.

What kind of shitey country is the UK these days?

irregularegular · 12/11/2018 08:39

Gaspodethetalkingdog

And that makes me think so much more highly of Trump. Obviously.

I'm not a Corbyn fan. But what he wears is really not the point.

maxthemartian · 12/11/2018 08:40

When people have given their lives so you can enjoy the freedom we all have today

They have their lives because idiot rulers had the most pointless war in history and millions of them died for nothing. Including the terrified teenage boys shot bybtgeir own commanding officers when they broke down from fear.

Honour the dead yes but I hate the glorification of it.

As for Trump looking appropriate! What, with his piss yellow hair, sneering expressions, not turning up because it rained and his insane Twitter utterances? But at least he has a black coat Hmm

pearlydewdropsdrops · 12/11/2018 08:40

Compare: nice smart Tony Blair, who took us into an illegal war in which British troops were unnecessarily killed or mutilated and which precipitated the rise of ISIS.

or scruffy Corbyn in a sensible coat, who has campaigned against war for decades through CND.

WW1 was meant to be a "war to end all wars". Think about whose actions support the spirit of what men and women fought for. Not the cut of their jacket FFS

Hisaishi · 12/11/2018 08:42

When people have given their lives so you can enjoy the freedom we all have today the VERY LEAST you can do is make a effort to look smart

That is so utterly contradictory. They died for our freedom so surely if we have freedom, we can wear whatever the fuck we want.

What did you wear that was so terribly special that it deeply honoured those who died for us?

Do you really think the children/grandchildren of those who died are upset by such shite?

I'm not a Corbyn fan but ffs.

BertrandRussell · 12/11/2018 08:44

“Also, she was wearing a hat. Surely you take your hat off to show respect.“

Women don’t.

lljkk · 12/11/2018 08:44

I have a scruffy navy anorak (cheap nasty paint splattered bad fit no collar). JC was not wearing a scruffy navy coat much less a scruffy anorak. Believe me, I know what a scruffy navy anorak is. I dislike JC, but can we please criticism him for real things not a tiny detail of his dress sense?

To still be cross at Jeremy Corbin's anorak
youknowyourself · 12/11/2018 08:46

I once wore a bright red coat to a funeral as it was the only one I had.
