AIBU to wonder if Prince William shaves his own face?

Not really an AIBU but I've often wondered about the Royal family in general and if they've got someone to do literally everything for them! For example Prince William always looks like he's had a professional shave, very smooth, never a little razor cut to be seen and looks like he uses moisturiser too. I know for special public events he probably has his own barber etc but surely on a 'normal' morning such as bringing the kids to school would he do his own shaving and Kate maybe put her hair in a ponytail and make breakfast for the kids or is all the cooking always done for them? I like the Royals btw so just curious!!

I'm shocked at Kate shopping in Waitrose. Would she not need constant security? Or does nobody care as she is not a Royal? The same regarding school pick ups, I thought it would have to be in a fortified fleet of vehicles

There's quite a few pictures of her doing both. I remember when they first got married and she was pictured leaving Waitrose in Anglesey.

Kate didn’t grow up as a royal and had a seemingly normal albeit fairly wealthy childhood. I expect she brings her children up fairly similarly to her own upbringing. Remember too that when they’re at her parents the children will be in a (large) normal family home.

Pros of being a royal include the fabulous wealth, jewels, homes etc. The minions to sort out the car insurance, the school book character day outfits, banish the spiders as a pp said etc.
The cons are the lack of privacy, the constant being picked apart over your clothes and looks, and having to make small talk and look interested in a lot of boring crap. And having to getting glammed up and sit through some 20 course banquet when you just fancy beans on toast in your PJs in front of X Factor.
Plus for me the biggest fear would be that some nutter or terrorise woukd target my child.
I think on balance I’d rather be ordinary.

Terrorist...

Giggling to myself - can't possibly type why ..... Ha - I bet Edward still has a wet nurse

Did anyone see today the news article picking apart Kate and Megan’s make up at Remembrance Day??
They tore Megan apart saying she had gone back to Hollywood make up while Kate’s was more grown up and refined. I couldn’t see any difference between the two!!
Doubt there are any articles comparing William and Harry’s facial hair!!!

With all the staff and royals living and working at KP, my bet is that there is a massive kitchen with a team of chefs capable of doing anything that is required

If so, it would explain why (I think?) there was no cook mentioned in that staff list

What about when they're at Anmer though?

BertramKibbler · 12/11/2018 19:35

Yes Brie, it was pathetic. Their make up looked incredibly similar.

I'm curious as to how she stays that thin! Especially as it isn't her natural build.

Why do you say this, Vladmirs? Because she was heavier at uni? FWIW, so was I from all the boozing but 15 years and two kids later I'm much slimmer than I was at that age. I don't think you can draw any inferences about her 'natural build', or assume that she's making superhuman efforts/sacrifices to stay thin.

@Puzzledandpissedoff No idea. Just conjecture, but I imagine Kensington Palace operating a bit like a boarding school or an Oxbridge college that deals with everything from breakfast for all residents, through to fancy dinners for honoured guests. I suppose it is possible that a member of the KP staff accompanies them to Norfolk, but it is equally possible that their housekeeper can cook. I know a fabulously rich family who have a full-time nanny and a full-time housekeeper even though the kids are all at prep school 8am to 6pm and the Mum doesn't work. The nanny cooks the kids' supper and the Housekeeper cooks the parents' supper. The Mum is a trustee for a number of charities and goes riding a lot.

@Cel982 I found breastfeeding was the best diet ever. With my first I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight within a few weeks and, while breastfeeding, I could quite literally eat whatever I wanted and stay a size 6. Plus carrying a baby around does wonders for the biceps.

I think Catherine takes her figure and fitness seriously though. She is sporty, so probably does exercise for pleasure as much as for health. I also think she takes seriously the fact that she is essentially a hand-shaking clothes horse, so she needs to look good in what she wears. No doubt she wouldn't put it in quite those words!
