We're looking for a new house at the moment...

Love this house but look at pictures 18 and 19 - what on earth ?!

It looks perfectly normal for a steam room and cinema room?
Bot 100% to my taste but I have seen dar worse.
I used to live near, sadly in a far less grand house!

giftsonthebrain · 11/11/2018 13:57

Cute polar bear

Brakebackcyclebot · 11/11/2018 13:57

It's a cinema & a steam room. I think it looks amazing. Bet It's out of my budget 😂

And those views of the Avon gorge are to die for.

SovietKitsch · 11/11/2018 13:59

Don’t think they’re that weird 😬 clearly just a cinema room and hammam as others have said...I think the whole place looks fabulous!

So OP how much do you want for it? 😉

JanetLovesJason · 11/11/2018 13:59

Kitchen and bathroom hideous. Also looks like they’ll got wood-style paint effects on some of the panelling in other rooms.

Missingstreetlife · 11/11/2018 13:59

Cinema and sauna, read the details

SilverySurfer · 11/11/2018 13:59

I love that house but it needs decorating and new furniture. 18 and 19 are bizarre but easy to change. Fab garden and views.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 11/11/2018 14:00

I love it (would possibly use the other bathroom if a little tipsy though), but then again one of my bathrooms looks a lot like this (yes, that is the bathroom from The Shining and, no, I’m not joking Grin). I accept I may have, Er, ‘eclectic’ taste, but even I hate that kitchen.

Ok this is my Arab heritage coming out but I don't think it's that bad 😂 the tile choice is not nice though - if it was tiled with blues and greens with a Moroccan Riyad feel I'd fucking love it. It looks like a sauna/Turkish bath type thing.

I find the kitchen more offensive to be honest!

LostInShoebiz · 11/11/2018 14:02

I have more of an issue with the fact they seem to be watching Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. Evidence of no taste or shame.

Cambalamb · 11/11/2018 14:03

Steam room?

madnessIsay · 11/11/2018 14:03

it’s quite normal for home cinemas to be done in floor to ceiling red.

clearly a Turkish influence for the steam room. Not my taste but the house is beautiful, dislike the kitchen as well.

LostInShoebiz · 11/11/2018 14:03

And what is that big brown tube in the kitchen?

tasdee · 11/11/2018 14:03

I'd love a steam room too as it always feels grotty in a public one. Has anyone had a steam shower fitted at home?

GreyGardens88 · 11/11/2018 14:04

I don't like the house but only because I prefer smaller houses with cosy rooms. Though I do like the staircase in that one and the gardens and view

jcsp · 11/11/2018 14:06

More money that taste.

Still I like the monthly payments.

did you see the hideous floral curtains and bed spread in the bedroom very 70s styling as for 18 and 19 pure migraine vomiting vile design true what they say money doesnt buy style

Loonoon · 11/11/2018 14:08

I think the sauna/steam room is gorgeous as is the rest of the house. The kitchens a bit designery for my taste but I could learn to live with it.

BitOutOfPractice · 11/11/2018 14:08

It's a steam room / sauna. It needs to be tiled and it's tiled like a Turkish bath

MoaningSickness · 11/11/2018 14:09

It doesn't really matter what a cinema room looks like - you sit in there with the lights out, surely? (Obviously I'm wildly speculating having never lived in a house with such a thing!)

brizzledrizzle · 11/11/2018 14:11

if it was tiled with blues and greens with a Moroccan Riyad feel I'd fucking love it.

Same here, I love the Moroccan style like that. It's the choice of tiles that I find migraine inducing.

MsLexic · 11/11/2018 14:12

That's a home cinema. It's meant to look like a cinema. It's not meant to look like a torture chamber... I think.
They are obviously far Eastern or similar as they have that communal tiled room with a communal toilet fountain.

Firesuit · 11/11/2018 14:12

I wouldn't change the kitchen.

The cinema room may be a bit red with the lights on, but that doesn't matter as the lights will be off once you've settled down with your popcorn. And actually red is a good colour for a traditional cinema ambience.

The tiled rooms - can be changed. At negligible cost compared to the probably price of the house.

Maelstrop · 11/11/2018 14:12

Good lord, the steam room needs re-tiling, that would make me fall over! The kitchen is a 70s' nightmare, why did they do that when the rest of the house is so neutral and lovely?
