I personally don’t see anything wrong with bragging about your achievements, whether they be academic (graduation) or materialistic (luxury car after saving for 3 years).

In fact, I love reading that and it inspires me. Hopefully it would inspire others too or allow them to live vicariously through you.

If you are bothered by bragging, please read no further.

SO, everyone is invited to my bragfest where they can brag about that new promotion, that designer handbag or that dream holiday. No judgements here, just celebrations for your achievement !

Since I set up my new business a year ago my income has doubled every month and this month I earned more than DH for the first time

lljkk · 11/11/2018 20:07

Nothing terrible happened in my life today. And my life is actually quite stable & secure in most respects. Never where I expected I could be.

Oh... and I'm amazing in job interviews. Not sure how, but pleased for me.

LittleCandle · 11/11/2018 20:08

DD2 graduates a week on Friday with a merit in her Master's Degree in International Conflict and Cooperation. She achieved a distinction for her dissertation. I am hugely proud, as she suffers from dreadful anxiety and has achieved both her degrees (she graduated a joint degree in history and politics last year) while working to support herself and refusing to take any money from me. I am so proud of her I could burst!

itsjustmebeingme · 11/11/2018 20:08

Frankie001 has crossed the line with that type of bragging!!!

(My god I’m so exhausted...don’t feel like I’ve slept properly in 5 years years...damn kids!)

I’m really proud of my (non sleeping) girls today (2 and 5)....they were angels in the restaurant, just eating, colouring and chatting away whilst kids at other tables were being right little buggers!

LittleCandle · 11/11/2018 20:09

Oh, and I forgot to mention that DD2 is also severely dyslexic.

Thanks all and well done to everyone again.

I am very lucky to have a few very good friends who have been amazing. And ds is a wonder. Had parent's evening last week and his teacher was so complimentary about him academically and personally it was so lovely (and another brag!)

Bunnybigears · 11/11/2018 20:13

My kids are bloody amazing!
The eldest is fantastic at football and can do everything requires for his lifeguard qualification even though he is only 11 and has to wait until he is 16 to take it and he got into a fantastic secondary school on a cricket scholarship.
My youngest is fantastic at rugby and he has people at the local premiership rugby club watching him even though he is only 8 and actually very small for his age. He is also on the radar of the cricket scholarship people. He does all this whilst also suffering quite debilitating nervous tics but the tics all but vanish when he is doing his sports.

A year ago I couldn’t go out of the house at night any distance due to anxiety. I would be d&v due to the physical affect it has on me (fucks up my adrenaline).

I am going away for 2 nights with friends at end of this month.

I’ve forgiven those that left the bomb that caused my brain to screw me up!

FuzzBallMushroomP · 11/11/2018 20:16

My husband is properly fit Grin and he sings (well). He's rather fond of me too.

thecatsthecats · 11/11/2018 20:17

I've lost four stone this year, and just bought a cute and sexy dress that actually looks cute and sexy on my body. AND a leather skirt that turned out to be too big.

Can't stop eyeing myself up in the mirror.

crikeycrumbsblimey · 11/11/2018 20:18

@shakeatailfeather

I think I speak for everyone when I say WOW you are amazing

cantthinkofausernamee · 11/11/2018 20:18

My esp of the chase is coming on soon and I don't wanna tell anyone for fear of bragging- and making a massive fool of myself

ifeelsoextraordinary · 11/11/2018 20:21

We paid off our mortgage last month! I can’t tell anybody in real life for fear that people will think we are showing off....It feels pretty amazing!

I love this thread

13thWarriorWitch · 11/11/2018 20:24

I finally got my writing head back on and started my 14th novel.

Also got a rather nice review for one of my earlier ones a few days ago.

These events may be related Grin

Sassielassie · 11/11/2018 20:25

I managed to get out of bed every morning this week despite pain and fatigue. I even managed one morning out for coffee before running out of energy! Woohoo! Onwards and upwards. Heres to more weeks like this.

MenstruatorExtraordinaire · 11/11/2018 20:25

I love this thread.

Congratulations to all you amazing women.

I love my boys, they all make me so proud everyday. Our home life is so pleasant and calm. We all get on so well. I have to pretend life is harder than it is so as not to piss people off who moan about theirs.

BarkerBump · 11/11/2018 20:27

Having dropped out of uni the first time around, I finally graduated this year. I took my final exam at 9 weeks pregnant and suffering terribly with ‘morning’ sickness and still got a 2:1 honours degree!

DP just started an entry level job in a completely new industry (with better progression potential than the restaurant work he was doing) after a long job hunt and countless interviews.

We move into our dream new build house next May and we’ll have a DS by Christmas.

Life is good ☺️

bertielab · 11/11/2018 20:28

I have my dream house, and it really is, my dream house and land, my lovely animals and amazing kids.

5 years ago I was low, depressed and dealing with the divorce from hell with my ex determined to take everything including this house off me.

On the phone on Saturday -my ex cried and said he wanted to come back and have his 'dream' family back. He told me I had been his dream wife, friend and mother. Shame you didn't value it then, I said.

It was so nice to be able to tell him - 'Never, ever, ever is it going to happen. Hell would have to freeze over. I am million times happier without you, never going to happen. You made your lonely bed, in your lonely house -enjoy what you sowed as you reap.' Then just at that second he was on speakerphone talking to the girls -the dogs went off like rockets and 4 friends who were coming for dinner came in and were shouting hello etc. 'Who are those people' 'Oh' I replied 'all friends you don't know and will never know and none of your business' I put the phone down.

I in no way said this with glee but pure happiness as I really have moved on and he hasn't.

Hollyboots · 11/11/2018 20:31

My eldest DC got accepted to one of the boat race universities this week and I got asked for ID when buying wine earlier. However, am still fat 😂

trevthecat · 11/11/2018 20:38

We have saved and saved and are about to exchange on a fantastic 5 bed, great location house as FTB. It's taken some doing but we're so close I can smell new paint!!

HollySwift · 11/11/2018 20:42

I was told that I’m a brilliant mum to my autistic DS this week, by a social worker (not one involved with our family, we don’t have one but their experience made the compliment feel even better). I nearly cried as I question my abilities daily, but you know what? I am a FUCKING good mother, to all my DC, they are an absolute joy and I’m so proud of them!

RachelRosie · 11/11/2018 20:54

I love this!

I have worked really hard the last few years to push myself to do things that scare me, which after struggling with anxiety is a real achievement for me.

I live in a house me and DH own and are able to give our daughter a good life. I had a shaky upbringing so this is so important to me.

After years of yo yo dieting, this is the year I finally have focused on my health and have lots 2.5 stone and counting. Feeling loads better for it.

Finally, I am super proud of our 19 month old. We have just taken her on her first holiday aboard and she handled the travelling and holiday really well, just a couple of strops, and was just a joy to be with!

What a positive, supportive thread! Thanks OP

I passed my driving test after 12 years and 13 tests Grin

WontonSoupForTheSoul · 11/11/2018 20:56

I’m coming to the end of an unexpected two-week stint of hosting FIL, and nobody has died cried.
