I personally don’t see anything wrong with bragging about your achievements, whether they be academic (graduation) or materialistic (luxury car after saving for 3 years).

In fact, I love reading that and it inspires me. Hopefully it would inspire others too or allow them to live vicariously through you.

If you are bothered by bragging, please read no further.

SO, everyone is invited to my bragfest where they can brag about that new promotion, that designer handbag or that dream holiday. No judgements here, just celebrations for your achievement !

Lymphy · 11/11/2018 19:33

Myself and two other colleagues were doing our specialist degree (nursing) they've taken the mick (lighthearted) since the start as I'm not academically minded, I've only gone and smashed it with the highest mark out I'd the three of us!
Also my almost 4yo Ds has after two months cracked toilet training and asked to go to the toilet today, he has autism and very limited speech so it's a huge achievement for him! Mega proud of him

ferrier · 11/11/2018 19:34

My kids. I'm so proud of how lovely they are and how well they and we all get on. So im going to brag that that's something to do with the way we brought them up.

BryanAdamsLeftAnkle · 11/11/2018 19:35

I passed a big exam in October. It had left me a wreck!

I was an abused child, a child in care, a teenage mum of a child with complex health issues, battled severe depression and was hospitalised 2x due to it and next year, despite all the difficulties in my life.... I'm going to graduate as a registered nurse where I will champion people who had a life like me!

I'm actually relatively sane and I'm meeting goals in my life that I never thought possible!

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 11/11/2018 19:35

Congrats on the successful delivery of your food baby mokapot Grin

FVFrog · 11/11/2018 19:35

I have just cooked and eaten a lovely roast with my teenage DD and DS and DS’s lovely GF, the wood burner has a lovely fire going and this morning I had a glorious 2 hour walk in the sunshine (in between torrential downpours!) with my dog and friends. My STBXH left over 2 months ago but I am surviving one day at a time. Not what I wanted but I’m ok.

Cahu58 · 11/11/2018 19:36

My elder DD graduated with a first in July. So proud as I've been a single parent for 10 years....

ChampagneCommunist · 11/11/2018 19:37

I've been head hunted for what I hope will be a great job

waterandlemonjuice · 11/11/2018 19:41

I’m really happily married, for nearly 20 years, and I’m and having the best sex of my entire life. In my fifties, So that’s nice!

My ds is the happiest he’s ever been, hurrah

We’ve just remortgaged so it’s fixed for 3 years and I organised it and made it happen and it meant we could buy a new car and roof (dull but needed)

Whenever life is a bit tough I am blown away by how supportive and kind my friends are

cptartapp · 11/11/2018 19:41

Only four holidays? I'll have been on five foreign holidays by December, and my young teens six foreign holidays each this year including the USA Grin

Witchofwisteria · 11/11/2018 19:42

I've lost 1 stone and 1and 10lbs since the 15th of October on a new diet and I'm not even struggling/starving anymore. Gone from 14st.7.5lbs to 12st.11.5lbs!

JustMe10 · 11/11/2018 19:42

Absolutely love this thread, well done everyone and keep bragging away! Grin

I'm a single mum to a 6 month old have been since day one, I have never really been a maternal person and was terrified of being a bad mum. But even if I do say so myself I am smashing it and loving every minute!
I know I've got a long way to go and there will be difficult times ahead but I am doing and I'm doing it well Grin

FromEden · 11/11/2018 19:43

We are moving into a brand new house in a few weeks that we are paying cash for. Its over 3000 sq ft and I can't wait. I've never owned a home before. Feel guilty even typing this though!

Also, my DD is super amazing and so smart her teacher is amazed by her.

Sorry. Blush

Blanchedupetitpois · 11/11/2018 19:49

I just successfully pulled off a surprise birthday weekend for my DH in a luxury hotel with all of his and my family joining us for dinner Grin it was glorious and he had no idea!

Chrystal1982 · 11/11/2018 19:50

This summer I graduated uni with a 2:1 after taking a suspension of studies for a year and going back full time with a 7 month old ds at home 😁 at the end of my 2nd year before surprise pg I was on course for a 3rd or a scrapped 2:2!
Today I’ve managed to get all uniforms washed, dried and folded before midnight lol

waterandlemonjuice · 11/11/2018 19:51

I ❤️ This thread, well done everyone!

MothertotheLordsofmisrule · 11/11/2018 19:52

My Dh spent the last 6 months (ish) putting together a huge exhibition about the local men who died in our village.

Loads of people came in and there were complements galore.

Very moving to hear the names of the men read out by residents of the roads where the fallen had lived.

Very very very proud of his achievement and I include the local history group in this plaudit.

shakeatailfeather · 11/11/2018 19:54

Well done everyone!!

This is probably going to sound a bit pathetic but i am proud of myself for surviving this year. DH died earlier this year, leaving me with 2 dcs under 10. We had been together for 20 years and were each other's only adult relationship. We knew he was terminally ill so were able to 'prepare' i guess. I have already lost my parents and am an only child. Obviously DH's family were totally devasted by their own grief. So not a lot of support.

I really didn't think i could go on any more than putting one foot in front of the other, but i have. And its been ok. I have got things done in the house and we've had family days out. I'm even not feeling bad about Christmas.

PossiblyPFB · 11/11/2018 19:57

I’m super proud that the beautiful kitchen I painstakingly designed and sourced all by myself was professionally photographed for a feature in an interior design magazine this week, and also, I’m about to celebrate the 17th anniversary of being married to the most spectacular man I have ever met. And while I’m at it, l’il PFB is just the sweetest, kindest and most adorable cherub I’ve ever seen. Thanks for letting me brag - I’d never normally ! Grin

Bragfest · 11/11/2018 19:58

Shake That is incredible and you should certainly be proud of yourself. I’m sorry you don’t have much support irl but we’re here for you. Keep going, you’re doing great !! 🍾

Two great kiddos - DS is doing fab at his first year at university and DD, who is 16 is getting great scores on her SAT (different here in the US, it's a standardized test for university admissions) and has been on high honor roll in secondary school for two years. He's a former captain of his crew team and she's co-captain of the same team now.

DH recently told me that thanks to his canny investments (he bought Apple and Amazon years ago) we have over a million saved for retirement, and I just got a promotion and big pay rise. He also does all the cooking and shopping.

Crazyfrog007 · 11/11/2018 20:01

I am beginning to come up with coping strategies to get over my anxiety and they're starting to work.

JustMe10 · 11/11/2018 20:01

@shakeatailfeather I'm am so sorry for your loss Flowers
But that is not pathetic at all, you should be proud of yourself! It would be so easy to crumble with that level of devastation but you stayed strong. Xx

W0rriedMum · 11/11/2018 20:02

Can the weight losers like @Witchofwisteria please share their secrets?!

Congrats to you all. I love this thread.

After years of working in a job I hated, I now work 10 hrs a week max doing the books for a business my husband set up. It's going well, we had two holidays this year and because I hardly work, my house is clean and tidy most of the time. Plus I never have to miss school stuff for my children. Just need to find my mojo with diet and exercise now I have time and maybe one day I'll be slimmer too.
