To answer a previous question. All an archeologist digging up ancient bones can tell is the chromosome of the person. They won't be able to tell whether the original person IDed as a man, woman, non-gender binary, gay, straight, a Christian, an etheist, or a million other things that do not evidence themselves in your bones.

Oh god Ptangy that is awful, I am so glad that I am not a kid now. It is bringing the adult area to young kids who are too young to process this crap, and who are still discovering whether they are a boy or girl. In the 1980's I was considered a 'Tom boy', I hated girls clothes, I preferred boys ones (they were way cooler), wore my hair short and spiky, and preferred to play with boys toys. I never wanted to be a boy, that was me, and what i liked, oh and I also wanted to be a pilot too. I was left alone to do what made me happy by school. I am a biological Female and happy being who I am.

In 2018 I would be told I want to be a boy, and be referred to a gender clinic. I would be told that I am transboy and that I can have surgery and fully transition when I am older.

@Aeroflotgirl me too! I even applied to the airforce but back then it was the womens airforce and I was so mortally offended by the segregation I chose to protest by mot signing up. I was a total tomboy, short hair, always up trees, a whizz with electric circuits and electronics.....but I am also a perfectly happy adult human woman and now a mum of 4. I still rock the DIY and in no way am I trans......all as the trans thing does is reinforce harmful and damaging gender stereotypes.

It proves that forensic anthropologists can tell the sex of any adult from their skeleton. Someone "identifying" as a man or woman doesn't override - and is far less important than - which sex they are. We are a sexually dimorphic species. The sexes have different health problems and treatments. We respond differently to certain drugs. Difference lies in every cell of our bodies.

I don't identify as a mother. I am a mother. I am British. I am a cat lover. The phrase "identify as" suggests dishonesty. To say that I identify as something immediately suggests that I'm not actually whatever it is I'm identifying as, however much I may want to be. When someone says they "identify as" a woman they are communicating that they would like to be seen as a woman, not that they actually are one.

The truth is that none of us control how others perceive us. I'm sure both the transwomen I know would like us all to see them as women but afaik nobody does. Doesn't mean anyone's mean to them. Does mean that "identifying as" is not the same as "is".
