Having a lovely thread?

I've been having a shite time lately but decided to make an effort and put my big girl pants on. I've bowled out with a positive attitude and encountered such lovely things today!

Many compliments, bumping into an old friend who I was really pleased to see again, finding my dream hat in a charity shop for peanuts, getting a free coffee & doughnut, getting my fave luxury food reduced a lot, finding a tenner in a bag I haven't used for ages and actually laughed until I nearly pissed myself ( the thread on here about mortifying moments)!

I've passed it on to others (charity but I don't like to talk about it), being nice to my old cow cat bum mouth neighbour & ending up bonding a bit, and giving a friend a bag of mine she's loved for ages.

Pass the love on! X

Nice idea OP.

I started a fight with a woman in Lidl today - silly mare wouldn't make space on the belt for my 6 pack of large fizzy water. Bloody heavy it was - but no - she said her crisps needed to not touch her other shopping.

Oh wait - this isn't what you meant is it?

This is the first thread I've ever started, am I getting flamed already?

OP posts:
InspectorIkmen · 09/11/2018 22:47

God no - you'd know a flaming if you got one! Nobody ever forgets their first flaming!

MissLadyM · 10/11/2018 11:02

What a bummer. I was hoping for some lovely things to read!

I had a depression/anxiety meltdown last night but have woken up today feeling better and with good skin for a change so of course I am going to spend my child and boyfriend free day lurking in my PJs watching cooking shows!

I might carpe the diem later if the weather is still good.

IrisJoy · 10/11/2018 11:15

This is a lovely idea for a thread.
Today has been lovely becuase : my 16 year old dd has been difficult lately and today she has been lovely. Currently she is helping dd2 with homework.
Managed to totally avoid the rain on the dog walk this morning.
I went for my flu jab and chatted to some lovely elderly people in the waiting room. No one looked at my like a fraud for being there. (happens often!)
Today will be a good day. ☺

I like threads like this. So far my only joyous moment has been the ruddy marvellous sausage toastie I bought for breakfast but I’m hoping that since I’m at work I can help people a little at least.

Isthereeveranexcuse · 10/11/2018 11:29

old cow?

MissLadyM · 10/11/2018 14:28

FFS here we go. The old cow is an incredibly unpleasant woman who has upset a lot of people and been very spiteful. Ok?

I managed to get my DC to rake up some leaves, none of my dogs bolted during the morning walk, and my Kangal puppy finally understood the word ‘no’.

yawning801 · 10/11/2018 14:40

makingmammaries I read that as you got your dogs to rake up some leaves and your DC to not bolt Grin

I haven't been out yet but I took some lovely photos of my cat and the red and orange leaves on our tree so I'm happy with them Smile

MrsStrowman · 10/11/2018 14:40

Today has been lovely because I've found some warm pyjamas in the house that actually fit my ever growing baby carrying self (ok so it might be DHs wookie onesie), another plus point because it's fleecy/furry the cat loves me and has been giving me cuddles all day 😁

TeddybearBaby · 10/11/2018 14:48

This is like the law of attraction. I love it. Just found out my daughter has a spelling age 2 years older than her age. Only a small thing but I’m so proud of her ☺️

BalconyDoor · 10/11/2018 14:49

Today has been good because I did the hoovering and tidying before 9am. Since then dcs and I have chilled inside because it's horrid out and I've not felt guilty for not doing enough with them

ElspethFlashman · 10/11/2018 14:50

Today has been (partially) lovely cos DS got his first ever big boy haircut. Yes, I've been cutting it far too long!

Cos I've always been cutting it (and boys hair is bloody hard to cut) I felt this wierd sense of ownership over it and almost insisted I bring him rather than DH so it was done properly. But I decided to fight against my control freak tendancies.

They came back and it looks so generic! The little boy close cut that every little boy has! He looks skinny and anonymous!

BUT he had a great time, he was walking on air coming home, there were two other boys in there getting the exact same haircut and everyone was with their Daddies and it was the most exciting thing ever.

So I am very proud of him and a bit emosh about him getting big and that's my lovely thing.

I say partially lovely as then later he had the mother of all tantrums over some gloves he plopped into a muddy puddle.

Sigh....

Still. Lovely bits here and there. We're having roast chicken for dinner! That's definitely a lovely thing to look forward to!

TheWoollybacksWife · 10/11/2018 14:50

I've just had a lovely lunch with DD2 who is home from uni for the weekend. We went to a cafe and had bacon rolls and then had a wander round the shops. It was brilliant to hear how much she is enjoying her course.

DiaryofWimpyMum · 10/11/2018 15:02

My car passed its MOT first time. I was delighted.

MissLadyM · 10/11/2018 15:10

I've also just found my very expensive new lipstick that I cursed myself for losing! I found it in a secret split in the lining of my handbag! I'm now going to have a steamy bath & face mask with lovely rose scented stuff followed by red wine and a Moroccan tagline!

Saw two rainbows today Smile

afishnotabird · 10/11/2018 15:29

I'm intrigued by your dream hat OP!

Faster · 10/11/2018 15:32

I took DS to the park today. He was in the buggy as we walked round the big lake. He stuck his hand up and made me hold his hand while I pushed him round. Was really lovely that he wanted to hold my hand.

Theweasleytwins · 10/11/2018 15:35

My ddad and dsis popped in- they brought me fudge and my favourite Chococo chocolate🍫

thighofrelief · 10/11/2018 15:41

My lovely Dad is home from hospital and getting better all the time. I'm very happy about that.

Also my sister is on a posh expensive holiday and texted to tell me that an extremely elegantly dressed older lady had stood up in the very posh restaurant and loudly bellowed that a fellow guest had called her an old cunt. Security was called to this Michelin star restaurant - that really cheered me up.

Eliza9917 · 10/11/2018 15:44

I broke the diet this morning and had mcds. It lived up to every expectation, the chips were hot and salted and every last bit of it was beautiful.

PlateOfBiscuits · 10/11/2018 15:47

I need to know more about this hat.
