I went into a home type shop this morning. There were fluffy blankets, ugly mirrors, elephant pictures,.dancing Santa's, colourful rugs, word signs. So much stuff. So much tat.

I'm right now babysitting a friend's boy. The telly is on. My god, the rubbish. Adverts, trashy tv. What a waste of time.

How much of life is a waste of time and materials? I'm right now on MN, also a.waste of time.

I wouldn't even know what to do to stop the waste of time and materials. We do buy mostly second hand but... I don't know. I'm not even able to articulate myself properly right that second

Am resurrecting this thread. About a third of the way through it and it is giving me such a wake up call. I really really don’t want our kids to get sucked into this world. Over the next couple of weeks I’m really going to have a good think about what is important in life and what is not and prioritise.

Just watched all the Steve Cutts videos on YouTube and horrified at myself - the mobile world one! (The irony is not lost on me that I’m typing this on my mobile)

Really want to stop my DH and I mindlessly scrolling too. Feel like we are neglecting our amazing kids

As I was reading this my eyes were drawn to the constantly moving Zulily add trying to get my attention. Makes you think.

It’s really quite something. I am going to make a conscious effort now to stop buying “stuff”
