AIBU?
...to think that 6th November is way too early for Christmas decorations in Costa Coffee ?
IndigoSpritz · 06/11/2018 13:55
I couldn't believe it when I walked in this morning and there was tinsel on the ballustrades, stars on the window panes and a Christmas tree on a window ledge.
Has the world gone mad ?

They were playing "Do they know its Christmas" in TK Maxx in my local town this morning :(
QuestionableMouse · 06/11/2018 13:58
McDonald's get theirs tomorrow. Subway were putting theirs up today. Seems pretty standard to be honest.
UpstartCrow · 06/11/2018 13:59
They should all be banned before December, this just sucks all the fun out of Christmas
PhilomenaButterfly · 06/11/2018 14:01
Even I, who love Christmas, was aghast to see Christmas decorations outside our local Italian restaurant when we were trick or treating.
LaurieFairyCake · 06/11/2018 14:03
I'm grateful to anyone who waited til after Halloween and Bonfire night
LanceStatersGold · 06/11/2018 14:04
Nov 6th is always the date that Christmas arrives at Costa. I can’t remember the exact reasoning but it is to do with business strategy.
You’d be amazed how many Costa devotees wait excitedly to see what the Christmas menu will be!
PinkHeart5914 · 06/11/2018 14:09
Morrisons this morning had all I want for Christmas playing! I couldn’t belive it
sweeneytoddsrazor · 06/11/2018 14:09
As most people have already started shopping for Christmas why wouldn't the shops be decorating. They want you to spend your money in their stores and if a bit of music and tinsel is around when you see an item that might be a good present you are far more likely to purchase it with Xmas reminders all around you.
Notacluewhatthisis · 06/11/2018 14:10
One if my neighbours put their decorations up last night. So clearly not too early for some.
ifancyachinese · 06/11/2018 14:12
I absolutely love Christmas. Went into Tk Maxx on weekend 3rd nov and they had Christmas songs playing and was given a Christmas cup in costa - too early even for me!

Has any body in here moaning ever considered that it may be good they are up. What about children and adults who may not make it to December 25th. How many people started the new year not knowing they had terminal cancer and last Christmas with out them knowing was there last. With all the fucking things you can moan about and have a go at why this. Yes Christmas crap is up early and so what.
firefire · 06/11/2018 14:16
Bloody hell @user1484424013
On that basis we will have to keep them up all year round. Along with every other decoration and celebration
PabloTescobar · 06/11/2018 14:19
Well the turkey and trimming sandwiches have arrived in the supermarket and I for one am not going to complain about THAT! Had one for lunch yesterday. Yum!
LooksBetterWithAFilter · 06/11/2018 14:34
Christmas is in 7 weeks. I have 2 pay days until Christmas it’s very much on my mind and I’ve started shopping I’m not sure how for something that is next month is too early. Companies want to get their money’s eorth out of the cost and effort of decorating and as someone else said people are preparing for it the music and decorations encourage us to buy that thing we see that would be perfect for someone.
Christmas is expensive and people prepare early. What is too early is Easter eggs hitting the shops on Hogmanay that baffles me. I’ve never bought that many Easter eggs I’ve felt the need to start stocking up at new year.
IndigoSpritz · 06/11/2018 14:38
Isn't it awful ? It was Bonfire Night just yesterday, for trumpet's sake !
toomanycuddlytoys · 06/11/2018 14:47
It's the music that's annoying . I go in there to try to get a peaceful coffee and Christmas music is playing 😡
