The first female doctor - such an opportunity yet it’s been wasted - she’s crap.

Completely overacted in every single episode.

I agree.

planetclom · 04/11/2018 19:29

Urbu

dementedma · 04/11/2018 19:29

not a fan here either - and I so wanted to be.

3rdrockfromthesun · 04/11/2018 19:29

YES!!!

I get bored and stop watching. Think there are too many companions and the BBC are being Uber PC

Dontgiveamonkeys1350 · 04/11/2018 19:30

I am sad to say I am with u. I love her in so many other programs but I don’t like her in this. It isn’t anything to do with her being a female doctor as I couldn’t care less about that.

I just think the whole thing and everyone on there is over acting.

Aworldofmyown · 04/11/2018 19:30

Oh, I'm enjoying this series!

reup · 04/11/2018 19:30

I’m really enjoying it! Except the spiders.

notacooldad · 04/11/2018 19:31

I haven't got a problem with her or the rest of the cast. I just feel that the script is appalling and every one I've seen so far just makes me feel like I've been lectured at.

UterusUterusGhali · 04/11/2018 19:33

My DC & I have loved it!
We didn't watch it much before tbh.

That's exactly how I feel, it's not the actors fault, but they storylines are to preachy it's meant to be escapism

iMatter · 04/11/2018 19:35

Dh and I were just saying she's constantly out of breath in that gushy over acting way

Really disappointed - was looking forward to a new doctor

Racecardriver · 04/11/2018 19:35

I really enjoyed David tenant and the chap after him. The others I didn’t like. It’s difficult character to play though. The doctor is always over acted. I suppose it’s because it’s aimed at children.

BehemothPullsThePeasantsPlough · 04/11/2018 19:39

I’m not feeling it tbh, but I’ve never liked Chibnall and I adored Moffat, Smith and Capaldi, so this series always had an uphill struggle with me.

PoppySeedBun18 · 04/11/2018 19:39

DH has been a big Dr Who since he was a child and he’s so disappointed with the new series. It feels like the BBC’s virtue signalling has come at the cost of good storylines. It’s supposed to be lighthearted sci fi and now seems far too right on and politically motivated.

Moonbear10 · 04/11/2018 19:40

Christopher Ecclestone was a brilliant doctor, he could play the dark side but still be comic when needed. I watched those series with my dad as my introduction to Dr Who. David Tennant was very good too, Matt Smith was irritating so I gave up with him and I haven't bothered with this new series based on the adverts alone which were annoying to me.

hidinginthenightgarden · 04/11/2018 19:41

I've enjoyed it to an extent but have never watched DR Who up until now. I wouldn't call myself a fan but it is okay until something better comes along.

RedPanda2 · 04/11/2018 19:42

I love it

GettingSomeLater · 04/11/2018 19:44

Isn’t it a totally new production company? I don’t think it’s the actors. Dull scripts. Weird shooting style

penisbeakers · 04/11/2018 19:44

Yes you are.

StephenFrysMassiveBrain · 04/11/2018 19:44

Still a Tom Baker fan, me! Matt Smith was great, and David Tennant. I feel sorry for this new Doctor in a way, poor scripting, virtue signalling messages, and a hellava lot to live up to. She's doing an OK job, but it's all a bit overacted which is a shame.

TurkeyBear · 04/11/2018 19:45

It's really bloody shit. She could be so good but the writers are ABYSMAL!

woodhill · 04/11/2018 19:45

The pregnancy on a bloke is annoying.

microwavetable · 04/11/2018 19:45

I quite like her as a doctor I don't think she overacts any more than any of the other doctors.
Can't stand Bradley Walsh though, I just can't see him being serious, and keep thinking of the chase

GraceMarks · 04/11/2018 19:45

No issue with Jodie Whittaker but the companions are meh and haven't been given any personalities. I liked it best when it was just the Doctor plus one human - now there's three of them there isn't enough for all of them to do.

And yeah, that Rosa Parks episode was almost embarrassing. I know the Doctor has always dealt with "issues" but it never used to bludgeon us over the head with them.

pontiouspilates · 04/11/2018 19:45

My family have watched all of them since Christopher Eccleston and we are all really enjoying the new Dr and the series in general.
