I know some people can't help it, I get that.

BUT I've just seen a photo on FB of a Mum & daughter and someone has comment 'so pressures' - I am assuming they mean precious!!

Any other classics you've seen?

Using the verb ‘lay down’ in the place of ‘lie down’. It does my fucking nut in.

I don't want to be judgemental, because I know about how our devices auto-correct.
But on the parking threads when they write about parking on the "curb"
I have to fight myself not to correct them.

And I LOVE parking threads!

One of my friends always writes 'Am' instead of 'I am' or 'I'm'. Like 'Am going to the shop'.

It annoys the shit out of me.

I've just seen Yore instead of You're/You are on a thread on MN!

'Yore not being ridiculous'

I work in benefits advice and it also infuriates me when people say they are claiming careers allowance instead of carers allowance.

Loose instead of lose is a constant bugbear for me but the latest one is discrete instead of discreet. Totally different meaning!

When people write 'I seen'.

Of instead of have. Jesus wept! Angry
Also, 'went' instead of 'gone'.
Spotted on fb recently, Oh I would of went to that if I would of known it was on"

Almost had me in tears. Tears of frustration.

There seem to be a lot of people on MN who are phased by difficult situations, as opposed to fazed...

Also 'myself' when 'me' would do perfectly well (i.e. - be correct). Argh.

'Been,' when it should be 'being.' Usually as in:

'Been as it was half-term, we took the DCs to Thorpe Park'

Or something similar to that.

@bellanotte22 there is a shop near me called 'Swop Shop'

In the lab at work there is a stationary cupboard. As yet they haven't twigged why every time I walk by I ask if it has moved or not!
