I know some people can't help it, I get that.

BUT I've just seen a photo on FB of a Mum & daughter and someone has comment 'so pressures' - I am assuming they mean precious!!

Any other classics you've seen?

Saw on fb today 'fort' when they meant 'thought'

Knittink · 04/11/2018 18:34

Yes it can, but in the vast majority of cases it isn't.

Fstar · 04/11/2018 18:36

A work one - client going into care for some 'restbite' was rolling around the office laughing my head off at that one. But hey im not perfect and make daft mistakes too

Cambalamb · 04/11/2018 18:49

To and too.

Cambalamb · 04/11/2018 18:49

Restbite Grin

Cambalamb · 04/11/2018 18:51

Hun, as in Attila?

AlbusSeverusMalfoy · 04/11/2018 18:51

Injoy!!

Cambalamb · 04/11/2018 18:56

I do enjoy the spelling mistakes children make though. I work with year 1 and 2 and the most common is mixing up 'th' and 'f'. One girl was writing about her Sunday dinner and how she enjoyed her roast beeth. I laughed so much at that one!

AdoreTheBeach · 04/11/2018 18:58

Discusting
“n” instead of and. Drives me crazy!

The whole issue of people not using there, their or they’re correctly.

Misuse of were, where, we’re.

Chester draws or draws. I recently saw “drews” for sale!!

As mentioned before, aloud and allowed confusion.

Not using pronouns together with with”, think with you, with me, with us etc.

spanishwife · 04/11/2018 19:04

Oh god yes to all of the above...

I don't think it's incorrect necessarily, but why is everyone saying "I was gifted" or "I gifted her" nowadays? I'm sure it's a new term and is so unnecessary!

bonbonours · 04/11/2018 19:06

@ijustwannatalktosomebody a Facebook acquaintance of mine posted up she was trying to decide on her baby's name and really liked Pheobe but she hasn't seen it spelt that way anywhere. Er, that's because it's the wrong way to spell it! I attempted a diplomatic reply saying if you choose an unusual (wrong!) spelling you'll always have to correct people. Loads of her friends responded 'You go for whatever spelling you want, hun' and similar. She opted for Pheobe. Makes my teeth itch every time I see it.

'To funny!'
I always envisage a guy on horseback, waving his fist above his head with his sword drawn, leading an army into battle or something.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 04/11/2018 19:11

Also, people saying preform instead of perform. That really grinds my gears.

bonbonours · 04/11/2018 19:15

Can't believe nobody has mentioned all those kids who went trickle treating last week ....

Whiskeyjar · 04/11/2018 19:38

People who don't know the difference between breath and breathe

SilentIsla · 04/11/2018 19:39

To funny!?!

🤣🤣

HildaZelda · 04/11/2018 19:42

@bonbonours, seriously?! GrinGrinGrin

Chrystal1982 · 04/11/2018 19:56

All of the above does my head in! So much so my mum bought me this mug a couple of years ago to use in Uni, caught a couple of people having a peek then saying to me ‘oh I always get that one wrong! I’ll remember now’

Spellings that make you cringe
hennaoj · 04/11/2018 20:11

Cum instead of come. Not only is it wrong, it's revolting.

Lucisky · 04/11/2018 20:13

I love that mug!

peppersprayfirstapologiselater · 04/11/2018 20:16

'Nursury' instead of Nursery. She does it constantly and I absolutely hate it!

CommanderDaisy · 04/11/2018 20:17

'Spellings" instead of spelling.....sorry - couldn't resist.

Skybooks · 04/11/2018 20:18

Trickle treats has really annoyed me recently!

GrannyHaddock · 04/11/2018 20:24

Nucular makes me go ballistic.

luckylavender · 04/11/2018 20:42

Pacific instead of specific
