To think my face looks different.

I had double jaw surgery a few months ago.

My friend says my fave doesn't look noticeably different. I think it looks quite different.

So AIBU to think my face is different and my friend is being awkward. The pictures are screenshots from our conversation hence the writing.

It does look noticeably different OP, and for the better. But I bet your friend just means that in her eyes you were pretty before surgery, so to her you’re not that different.

I see a massive difference! It made your smile look much more natural. You look happier.

Some people are like that, so close minded that they see things different from other people.

I see a difference, both physically in your face/teeth/jaw - and also in that your face looks more relaxed/less strained in the ‘after’ pics.

I hope your friends comments are coming from a good place, but perhaps it’s better to not discuss it any more with this particular friend. I’m not quite sure why you’d say “I can’t see any difference” to someone, knowing they’d been through such a big operation, one of the reasons for the operation being to boost their self confidence.

I can tell the difference you look amazing.

I had double Jaw surgery about 15 years ago and it was the best thing ever. Completely changed my confidence. Painful but worth it as its a major major OP

I also became convinced my nose was wonky afterwards.. It so wasn't :-)

@Marisa444 dis you have an over or underbite? I prefer my nose now to before surgery but still think it's bigger than so would like. No plans to change it though!

There is a difference!

Haircutdilemma I had a class 2 overbite (absolutely no chin !) and loads of gum which was also asymmetrical. They did upper and lower surgery and slid then chin forward and trimmed off some gum to make it symmetrical. Bloody genius they were !

Because of the way you posted the photos I thought your jaw was changing in the other direction and I was going to tell you that you needed to see someone urgently.

So yes, there’s a HUGE difference and I’m glad it’s the other way and a good thing 😀

It's amazing what they can do isn't it. I went into the first appointment thinking I would get braces and came out on a 3 year journey to literally rearrange my face.

So pleased you have had yours and recovered well.

The after pictures look so different to the before, it could be someone else, so I think there is a big difference. Could your friend be jealous?

You look SO different. I think your friend is jealous tbh.

It’s a really nice difference because although the difference is definite, it’s subtle. You’re still you but your jaw/mouth looks much softer and more relaxed. I suppose your friend was expecting a total in-your-face-who-the-hell-is-that difference. She didn’t expect to recognise you, I suppose. Excellent surgeon! You look wonderful! You must be brimming with confidence!

I'm finding the interpretations of the friend being bitchy a bit weird?

My friend had the same surgery done. I'm aware if I really focus on her face she looks different but that's not what I do with friends - I just see them as an overall lovely package. I constantly forget she's had it done. She's has other bits done frequently and I never notice unless she points it out. She's always just been beautiful to me.

I think your friend is doing the “ but I could see your beauty shining through before your op” thing. Which may well be true.
But from a stranger on the internet lee say you look really different post op. You are very good looking and very glamorous.

Yes it's a big difference. And you're very pretty, and no,,,there is nothing wrong with your nose.

There’s a slight change, it’s subtle....you’re a very pretty girl and have nothing to worry about
