I'm Scottish. We say tea.
I am having Indonesian noodle dish and some red wine.
Mostly excited about the red wine haha.
How about you? What are you'd having/had?

Anyone else enjoying some wine this Saturday night?

I call it dinner or supper.

I marinaded some butterflied chicken and then griddled them, we had them with caesar salad and the kids had baked potatoes. They had nobbly bobblies, I had some viennetta.

No wine - I'm trying to be good. Had no booze last night either.

starrynitelight · 27/10/2018 22:17

Dinner.

Bruschetta to start. Lamb harissa meatballs and spaghetti with green salad.

I love pasta 🍝

justaweeone · 27/10/2018 23:24

I'm Scottish but have lived in England since I was 18( over 50 now🤦‍♀️) and lived abroad for some of my childhood
I say
Tea
Dinner
And occasionally supper( if having friends over and it's a casual meal at the kitchen table with lots of wine!
To answer the question we are having Ken Hom noodle dish

TheSpooktacular · 27/10/2018 23:33

We had a treat of a chinese with the DC, they mainly eat the starters and a bit of rice. I say dinner or tea. No wine tonight, had a cup of tea.

Jezzifishie · 27/10/2018 23:33

I had Domino's, with hot chocolates to drink (I was at a party Grin)

Taffeta · 27/10/2018 23:38

I had some food out - a tuna baguette and a pint of lager at the event we were at

And a couple of the kids’ Tangfastics Grin

Not supper, dinner or tea really

Although I had a cup of tea as well

@Cambalamb

I think it’s because I don’t see how a glass or 2 of wine helps you unwind. It’s just a drink and having just a couple of glasses isn’t enough for me to start feeling the effect of getting drunk so I don’t see how a glass or wine or a Diet Coke to unwind makes any difference as it has the same effect for me. I think people just like to say they have had some wine as it makes them feel like they have had a treat on the weekend which they are perfectly entitled to.
I just didn’t realise how common it is.

SoyDora · 28/10/2018 10:57

Howdoyoudoit31 but you realise other people are different to you, and maybe a glass or two does help them to unwind, of course?

Taffeta · 28/10/2018 12:04

It’s not about “feeling the effect of getting drunk” or wasted!!!!!

A glass or two of wine relaxes most people

Weird that you don’t get that

Dahlietta · 28/10/2018 14:02

If you never drink at home, Howdoyoudoit31 and you don't feel any effect at all after drinking a couple of glasses of wine, you must go on quite a few 'nights out with the girls' Grin

Cambalamb · 28/10/2018 14:04

I feel the effect of just one glass of wine. If you don't then perhaps you are a big drinker and are numbed to it's effects???

Howdoyoudoit31 · 28/10/2018 21:47

What a stupid comment Cambalamb. I have already said I don’t drink at home so how does that make me a big drinker Confused

1 night out with the girls every 4-6 weeks. I drink a fair amount on those nights as I drink to get drunk.

Barbayagar · 28/10/2018 22:19

A glass of wine definitely relaxes me and I enjoy the taste, I'm not remotely drunk after 1 glass. Each to their own. I don't binge drink specifically get drunk on my rare nights out.

Amyerda · 28/10/2018 22:39

This post is now boring. . Look at how much I don't drink.....

RockinHippy · 28/10/2018 23:51

I'm Geordie living South, but we say tea. Though DD mixes it up a bit as she's grown up down here😂

White fish Korma with sag aloo, rice & garlic naan, followed by home made almond snow cake

RockinHippy · 28/10/2018 23:56

Thinking on it further 🤔

Here it's tea if it's a quick cooked meal or takeaway

Dinner if it's a more elaborate meal, maybe with guests

Supper if you're not that hungry & it's more of a snack

Dontfeellikeaskeleton · 29/10/2018 00:28

Homemade lentil and veg soup, cheese, crackers.

Been a busy weekend away so didn't have much time to cook.

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 29/10/2018 00:39

Sorry if this is boring 😬
We had roast lamb, cabbage, carrots, mash, Yorkshire puds with shit loads of gravy.
Afters was fresh figs & pecorino all washed down with modest amounts of Macon village 😊
Retired to sofa and continued on the wine and nibbled some roast chestnuts and a few slices of chocolate orange.

SoyDora · 29/10/2018 06:04

I drink a fair amount on those nights as I drink to get drunk

But not everyone does. I drink (generally) because I like the taste of good wine and because a glass or two in the evening relaxes me. Because we’re all different 🤷🏻‍♀️.
(Actually don’t drink anything at the moment as I’m pregnant, but I’m looking forward to that first glass of cold white wine!)

steff13 · 29/10/2018 06:14

I'm American. Tea is a drink. 😉

We had roast beef and baked potatoes.

PumpkinPie2016 · 29/10/2018 06:57

I'm from Oldham and it's tea here Grin dinner is something you have at midday Grin

Last night a had gammon and pineapple with veg and roast potatoes.

Not sure yet for tonight. I ended up going to bed at 8pm with awful stomach ache - not as bad this morning but still don't feel amazing. Maybe comfort food.

JaceLancs · 29/10/2018 07:22

Steak with stuffed mushrooms
Followed by rhubarb and custard

Babybearsporij · 29/10/2018 08:10

It's tea to me and I'm from the Midlands.

I took porridge to work last night and had it mixed with skyr. Very nice.

^ Is this some sort of joke? Seriously! wtf!!

A580Hojas · 29/10/2018 08:16

I had a spicy bean burger, sweet potato fries, green salad, coleslaw, cherry tomatoes and avocado. I also had half a bottle of pinot. I call it dinner (southerner).
