Just wondering whats the weirdest thing youve experienced after remembering a very weird thing that happebed to me, I was in the park once a few years ago where I lived (quite a rough area) I was alone in the park except for my 2 children. I was pushing them both on the swings when 2 women and a couple of children walked past. As they approached where I was at the swings (they were on the outside of the park which is on the middle of a housing estate) One of the women stopped and shouted at me “Thats my baby!!” to my son in the swing, he was about 8 months at the time, I looked at her thinking it was some sort of weird joke, and said in a jokey way as didnt know what else to say “im pretty sure I remember giving birth to him” well she didnt react at all and just stood there with the straightest face and repeated “thats my baby!!” at this point I didnt respond. She then just stood there resting on the gate staring at me trying to intimidate me. The weirdst thing was she was with another woman and some kids and none of them said anything, I felt really intimidated and she was just glaring at me and I couldnt leave the park as she was by the gates, so I called my brother. Eventually the other woman and kids began to walk away which encouraged her to! It was the weirdest thing ive ever experienced and luckily never bumped into her again although I Did avoid that park after that. Anyone got any weird things that has happened to them?

Oh wow that is creepy.. I'd be terrified!
Mine isn't that creepy but definitely made me uncomfortable. I was in Tesco's with dd and I was queuing at the checkout when a man very clearly shuffled his way in front of me in the most blatant que jump. It was clear he had learning difficulties so I didn't say anything. Next thing I walk out to the car and this same man stops in front my car so I cant drive, I reverse out, get petrol and then drive out of Tesco's where theres a pedestrian crossing. The same man is crossing, so I stop. He just turns slowly to look at me, stops in the middle of the crossing, and then just stares at me with the most unsettling look. This went on until the guy in the car behind me gets out (we've been stopped that long) and the man crossing just carries on his way. It was so strange and I didn't really know what to do!

CandyCreeper · 25/10/2018 15:35

oh my username1724 thats crazy!

I assumed the woman had mental health issues but at no point did the woman with her try to encourage her to walk away or even say anything to me or her, she kind of just stood there occupying the kids.

I was about 8 weeks pregnant in the doctors waiting room waiting for my appointment to be referred to the midwife. Nobody knew I was pregnant other than my partner and I hadn't said why I was there. When I entered the surgery a little girl about 3/4 pointed at me and said 'mummy that lady has a baby in her tummy'. I was a slim size 10! No idea how she knew but it wasn't from me.

Aprilsinparis · 25/10/2018 15:57

I was sitting in a cafe having my lunch, when a lady walked in, took my plate of food, and walked out the door. I sat there thinking what the feck is going on, went outside to find her, she was nowhere for be seen, then, as if that's not bad enough the girl who served me, accused me of running off without paying, and could I go back inside and settle the bastard bill.Confused

cjt110 · 25/10/2018 16:13

@Aprilsinparis Sorry but yours made me chuckle. Sounds so random!

I remember being a young teen in my Grandma's car. We noticed, on a rural and isolated road, that we were being followed. I cant recall if we stopped or traffic stopped us but the man behind got out, knocked on the window and said he had been following us because he wanted to buy my Grandma's car registration. It ended LAM and his surname was Lamb. He gave her his details and we went on our way.

Bizzare Confused

DioneTheDiabolist · 25/10/2018 16:17

Maybe the other woman didn't know her either OP.Halloween Shock

This isn't particularly woo but it was very serendipitous.

I had recently moved into my first flat and was absolutely, bones-of-my-arse, skint. No extra money for anything beyond rent, bills and food. My aunt had given me her old ironing board when I moved out and while ironing something, I'd manage to rip the cover. I was disproportionately upset and annoyed with myself because I knew I couldn't afford to buy another one.

I went for a walk in the countryside a few days later and something brightly coloured stuck in a hedge caught my eye. I had a closer look...and it was a brand new ironing board cover, still in its packaging!

EscapeTheCastle · 25/10/2018 17:00

An ironing board cover sent by the universe! Love it TitOfTheIceberg

Reminds me of when I was thinking about a couple of books that I had enjoyed as a child. It was pre internet days so I couldn't easily research what they were with the little facts I had on them.

Whilst thinking about these books one day I went into a charity shop and there they both were! Waiting for me maybe? It was "Fireweed" and "The Ghosts of Motley Hall"

TitOfTheIceberg · 25/10/2018 17:28

Oh, I loved The Ghosts of Motley Hall! Good work, universe!

I got on the tube at the first stop on the line. There was one other person in the carriage. On we went.

By the next stop, when I looked up, he had disappeared and I was alone. Several rational explanations but freaked me out!

Also not spooky but very scary- was walking home past my old primary school many years ago, perhaps 17 years old? It was 3pm and school finished at 3.30. A man was by himself at the entrance to school (there was a long path from there to the actual playground). As I went past he followed me. I crossed over several times and each time he followed. I lived around the corner so got into my house and saw him outside looking at my house. He then turned and walked back in the direction of the school, who I then phoned to inform them of creepy man!

RandomObject · 25/10/2018 17:37

And more light hearted- I was at work and needed 6 pieces of equipment to run a machine, but one was missing. I went to find someone else and we looked around, confirmed it was missing, there were only 5 pieces in the machine and I couldn't use it. Unpacked them back into the box, counted them, yep, six pieces.

Not spooky but very weird- Best Mate and I on London tube watching a
man with a gorilla suit and an accordian- obviously high as a kite. Reminds me why I live in the countryside

SecretWitch · 25/10/2018 17:50

This event happened about 1978. I was with my mum, dad, and siblings traveling down the New Jersey Turnpike. It was very late at night and we all wanted to wee and have a snack. We stopped at a “rest area”, basically a petrol station and a place to walk your dogs.

My mum needed the loo badly, hopped from the car and went in.
The rest of us followed about two or three minutes later. We had quite a shock to see a very large man, with mum over his shoulder walking the other way out the exit. My father immediately shouted and ran after them. The big guy dropped my mum and just kept walking.
What has stayed with me was my mother’s expression. She did not say a word while the man had her but her face was screwed up in terror.

I was walking through town in my lunch hour, and saw a bloke and two women walking towards me. As they got close the bloke ran up to me and put his face right up to mine literally an inch away, and stared at me, he had really wierd stary eyes. One of the women laughed and said “what are you doing?” To which he replied “I’m just seeing if she’s really a blond” they then all walked off laughing. A couple of weeks later, the bloke and laughing women were all over the tv. Karen Matthews and Micheal Donovan!

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 25/10/2018 18:11

Fucking hell SecretWitch!

Laiste · 25/10/2018 18:27

Weird not spooky - ok.

Traveling on the central line a lot years ago gave lots of weird/funny happenings.

One time my friend and i sat down in the inward facing seats. Gradually taking in who's nearby i realised we were opposite a business man reading a broadsheet newspaper. Immaculate hair, crisp white shirt, black tie, suit jacket black socks and shiny black shoes and ... a teeny black leather mini skirt! hairy legs ... Grin We had to get off next stop because we were bottling up laughter.

Another time we were seated near a nun knitting. As we pulled in to a stop the train doors opened and the ball of wool rolled off her lap and straight out the door. She watched it go and just kept knitting. It rolled away across the platform and other people on the train just sort of watched it go. It was all in slow motion really and i think everyone else thought everyone else was going to do something. The doors closed again and off we went with the ball of wool (presumably) flying out behind unravelling ConfusedGrin She kept knitting until the wool was tight and then just stopped abruptly and sat completely still. It was surreal!

SecretWitch · 25/10/2018 19:42

DailyMailDontStealMyThread, it was so frightening and bizarre. What stays with me also, we just got back in the car, like nothing happened.
My dad asked mum if she’s was alright. She said yes. Off we went.

Laiste I’m laughing so much about the knitting nun.😂😂
I can just picture her, knitting placidly away whilst her yarn took its leave at the station!

Snomade · 25/10/2018 20:01

Great idea for a post, OP! I can't remember anything from my life that's interesting enough to include, but I'm loving everyone else's. Keep 'em coming!

socksortights · 25/10/2018 20:13

Years ago I rented this flat that was quite old (think house turned into flats) the bathroom had this really elaborate ceiling - think more what you would have in a drawing room.
One day my DP at the time and I went in the bathroom to clean our teeth and our tooth brushes were missing. We lived on our own and were very confused. We just shrugged and went and got ready for bed.
Suddenly we hear this massive crash from the bathroom and the whole ceiling has fallen down! It would have seriously hurt us if we had still been in there cleaning our teeth.
After letting landlord know etc. We left it and got in bed, and weirdly I found our toothbrushes under my pillow !
