What were your weirdest pregnancy cravings

I say this as someone who just ate a tin of cold mushy peas followed by hot beef gravy with bread dipped in it...

Chillies dipped in sour cream. By the jar full... Mmmm!

MrsMartinRohde · 24/10/2018 11:37

Oh and the smell of rubber, tyres and the like. And oil and petrol. The London Underground and Halfords, random garages. It was really powerful

Pyjamaface · 24/10/2018 11:41

Mcds. Used to have a Big Mac meal, chicken nuggets and a quarter pounder washed down with a chocolate milkshake. And then I would go throw it all up like I did with all food and drink

The weirdest was chewing DP's arm or thigh. Would sit watching tv, just munching and chewing on a nice fleshy bit. Poor man was covered in teeth marks

Penny sweets

Tadda · 24/10/2018 12:09

The smell of Vosene shampoo!!
(also just read this thread and now have a massive craving for fizzy drinks...coke, lilt, fanta….need to get to the shop!)

Notfair2030 · 24/10/2018 13:04

Bumble bee. I tried beef jerky but it was horrible. They are all flavoured and it just wasn't right :(

bunintheoven88 · 24/10/2018 15:46

Currently 28 weeks and my car has run out of windscreen wiper fluid 3 times since Saturday.

I can't get enough of it 😂

bunintheoven88 · 24/10/2018 15:46

Wow, just re-read that, I mean the smell, I'm not drinking the stuff!

agentdaisy · 24/10/2018 16:09

Cigarettes and alcohol, specifically Jack Daniels. I've never smoked and can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke but when I was pregnant I craved it like mad but refused to give in.

In early pregnancy I craved plums and blush pears. With Dc2 it was buying and eating half a dozen of each a day that prompted me to take a pregnancy test.

I also craved lion bars with dc2, I could easily eat a 4 pack a day and always had one with me for months. Once I'd given birth I completely went off them and just the sight of them makes me feel sick even now.

Lime pickle on or in everything. Lime pickle and cheese sandwich, Lime pickle omelette, lime pickle with chocolate ice cream etc and my favourite was lime pickle with peanut butter on sliced apples.

StepMug · 24/10/2018 16:15

Sponges, toothpaste and the smell of cleaning stuff mixed with running water.

I used to chew the sponges swilled round with water. DH came in with a painters sponge one evening - I’ve never loved him more.

Gemstonemama · 24/10/2018 17:05

Currently 19 weeks pregnant and have a terrible craving for frozen garden peas! I have to eat them one at a time and crunch them on my back teeth 🙈 (extra caution taken as aware of listeria worry!)

Whatthefunk · 24/10/2018 17:11

I craved the smell of paint and marker pens....My boss was having her bathroom painted, and I used to sneak in, for a sniff Grin

ConciseandNice · 24/10/2018 17:14

Drinking vinegar. Lots of bloody vinegar. I used to stink.

puddingjuly · 24/10/2018 17:14

Nail varnish - it had to be clear and kept in the fridge and I used to paint it on my nails when it was ice cold then nibble it off. It drove me mad I can remember throwing it out of the window once in frustration because I knew it couldn't be doing me much good and my DH had to go and find it in the middle of the night 😂.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 24/10/2018 17:17

Radishes. I ate them by the bucket-load both times. Would probably have eaten by the barrel or wheelbarrow-load if it wasn't for DH's Confused face !!

bershetmelon · 24/10/2018 21:49

Chips and gravy but only from the chippy. I remember having several conversations with dp on the way home stating that whatever was for dinner (that he'd already started) wasn't happening and that he was to go to the chippy round the corner. That and McCoy's salt and vinegar crisps, yum!
