To think the LOL dolls are taking the piss????

I mean, if £10 on a pathetic plastic ball with the ugliest doll in it isn't enough, DD now has her heart set on the dolls house that's been designed for them - basically it's a tacky looking dolls house that is £179!!!!!!!!!!! They reel the kids in and then leave us to be the villain when I say it's too much!!!!! AND I keep stepping on the little bastard accessories! I'm trying to let her down gently by saying that Father Christmas won't be able to carry it on his sleigh but I think I'm in for a disappointed DD on Christmas morning......... Angry

Most toys are plastic shite though.

The trick is to keep the kids away from the glittery marketing and then it can’t become something they have their heart set on.

They just keep bringing out more and more dolls to collect. DD hasn't asked for the house she has asked for the Bigger Surprise which I have got begrudgingly.

I'm hoping she'll be content with the Pearl Surprise which basically is a big round case, full of four more shitty dolls inside!!!!!

Chanklybore - not sure how we stop children from being slaves to the marketing - it's everywhere!!!

Omg my daughter is asking for this. Not in a million years. I can't bloody afford to buy this for £10. It's not much better than kinder surprise eggs

I've just googled the dolls house.

It's pretty magnificent, it's absolutely huge. Bigger than a 4 year old.

The way you described it I thought it was going to be a tiny pointless but of plastic.

Ok it's not a wooden, elaborate, hand painted dolls house but it's still pretty huge.

I'm really hoping that they bring out a "halfway house" type one, perhaps for slightly deprived LOL dolls but I doubt it will be in time for Xmas 2018!!! I suspect she'll have moved on to something else by next year!

Already being sold on gumtree for £270, so not everyone buying it even wants it. This year's Fingerlings/Mog/Beyblade (going back in time a bit for the last one!).

Do you let her watch children’s TV channels with advertising?
If so, don’t.
I’m no screen time snob, got a YouTube obsessive of my own!
But she’s never watched TV that has adverts, and she’s never wanted the stuff that’s pushed that way.
Sure, she’ll be attracted to shiny displays in stores, or want what her friends have...
But I’ve never had requests for random shite like LOL, because she isn’t on the receiving end of the adverts.

That's the weird thing Ellisandra - she never watches childrens TV - hasn't for years. I think she sees these things in shops and then googles it, hence it brings up all sorts in Amazon and Smyths etc. Oh well - lets hope the yearning doesn't last too long...

I saw them on the top toys for Christmas and was amazed by their shiteness. Fortunately I still only have a toddler but I’m hoping by the time she gets into crazes Lol dolls are gone.

My youngest loves them and never stops playing with them.

My dad has gotten her the house for Christmas and she will absolutely love it.

It only feels like they aren't worth a tenner when you get a bloody double!

Agreed op! But just so you know pearl surprise only has 2 dolls - 1 big and one little. Dd had it for her birthday. Utter crap. We could have bought the dolls individually for £16!!

Half way house is the ball things for £60. My DD is getting for Xmas. They are crap, but what isn’t. She loves them, far more than the frankly boring wooden shite I try and buy for her

It seems to be a 'thing' on my local fb groups to buy a second hand dolls house and decorate it with LOL dolls pictures (and save £150)

My daughter has four Christmas presents so far they have cost nearly £350. One was the lol dolls house, the peak surprise the bigger bigger surprise and something else. I now have to buy more presents as she is 3. And won't understand why her pile is smaller compared to her brothers. I hate these dolls but they are fun and my kids love them it's a tough one lol

I hate these dolls. Happily, someone bought one for my DD for her birthday and she wasn’t remotely interested in it for more than 60 seconds.
