The consultation on whether to allow any man to self identify as a woman closes at 11pm tomorrow. If we allow this to happen, we will never be able to put the genie back in the bottle when more women and girls are harmed.

I wonder if any figures will be released to show how many people have given their views?

Budgieinaberet · 20/10/2018 22:43

I'm sure they will. Someone on another thread has linked to the results of the Scottish consultation

I want to do it but I don't want to put my contact details. I'm happy to give my name and email address but not phone number and actual address.

MrsGollach · 21/10/2018 08:54

@Sarahjconnor, for goodness sake, we waste enough money translating stuff. If one wants to live and integrate in a foreign country one should care enough to learn the language. That's a very basic step.

ShineOnHarvestMoon · 21/10/2018 08:58

Done.

I used the Fair Play for Women extended commentary plus I may have ranted (logically) about the fundamental issue with the proposed changes:

That they are trying to change the definition of who is a woman. No man gets to tell a woman who or what she is.

I submitted before they extended the deadline. The browser kept telling me there was an error, but I simply clicked my browser’s refresh button and found that my responses had been saved. So don’t be too fazed.

It’s a flawed consultation - it assumes that the proposed changes affect only trans people.

So it’s really important to speak up for women and girls. We’re half the population and they must not ignore us.

PinkSparkly - I think that name and address are an important safeguard against false names etc being used to give deceitful and false responses.

I’m hearing of young trans activists -clearly snowflakes with dubious ethics- filling out the consultation multiple times by appropriating other people’s names and email addresses.

This is clearly unethical. So the identifying details maybe will help to counter that level of deceit.

@ShineOnHarvestMoon@ good point but phone number? That's really unnecessary as I don't expect anyone to contact me about it and wouldn't be willing to talk to them. I often use 012345679890 when I'm filling out forms so I might use that.

ShineOnHarvestMoon · 21/10/2018 16:49

Yes that’s sort of what I did.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 21/10/2018 16:54

I've done it with my details and a made up phone number (different to the one above) and also said I don't want anyone to contact me or my comments to be published. I want to do my bit but don't want anyone contacting me!
