Roll on deodorants, they take longer to dry now?

I prefer to use them in the probably deluded idea that they might have slightly less environmental impact but if I'm tempted to put the hairdryer on to speed up drying surely that undermines/negates it?

I use them because spray on always seemed to go powdery and get all over clothes.

Always found they take ages to dry though 🤔

I refuse to use this as I hate the “wet” feeling.

Bluetrews25 · 17/10/2018 21:24

I have noticed this, too.
Giving the bottle a good shake helps, but I do agree they seem wetter and less creamy than they used to be!

MrsDc7 · 17/10/2018 21:25

I was just thinking that this morning. I bought a roll on for the first time in ages and I ended up having to dab my armpits dry with a towel!

FlowThroughIt · 17/10/2018 21:27

I just use stick deodorant, I don't have the patience for sprays or roll one.

FlowThroughIt · 17/10/2018 21:27

*roll ons

Dragonglass · 17/10/2018 22:12

I hate the wet feeling and hate sprays too, so I use the cream stick ones.

alittlequinnie · 17/10/2018 22:15

I always thought the roll ons took longer to dry since they stopped putting alcohol in them - in fact I gave up with roll ons after that because they took so long to dry.

You would end up letting half the roll on rub off onto your clothes and then get bo by the end of the day.

I use the stick ones - I don't know why they took the alcohol out - was it a health risk?

Lonecatwithkitten · 17/10/2018 22:21

I use Sanex roll-on, put on after my toner, before facial mosituriser and leg mosituriser. Never notice it being wet. I think a lot of roll-on last longer than spray or stick and that pleases my Scottish heart.

Lokisglowstickofdestiny · 17/10/2018 22:24

I can't stand the wet feeling but I find them more effective than other formulas. As soon as I've dried off from shower I apply, so by the time I've done every thing else it's usually dry.

RememberWhenRibenaTastedNice · 17/10/2018 22:26

I don't know why anyone uses roll-on deodorant.
When I go to the supermarket I don't understand there's 24 different roll-on's but 5 sticks.

Who wants to walk round with wet sticky uncomfortable armpits for half an hour every morning.
It's like having wet sleeves or sticky hands.
Horrible sensation.

Desmondo2016 · 17/10/2018 22:28

My husband introduced me to roll on amplex and i will never ever try a different deodorant ever again in my whole life ever! It ticks every box. Twice.

Underpressureidiot · 17/10/2018 22:28

I use dove, I’ve never noticed any wetness and can get dressed straight away

inorite? 🤔 I order mine on Amazon from the US. There are some things you just can't replace in a new country, turns out, for me at least, deodorant is one of them.

PurpleAndTurquoise · 17/10/2018 22:51

Get the Blue Sure roll-on. It still has alcohol in so dries quickly. Stings after you have shaved your armpits though!

Gibble1 · 17/10/2018 23:19

I use the dove stick. Has to be the blue lid though cause the other flavours don’t work!

BeaTrewts · 17/10/2018 23:45

Can't stand roll-ons for this very reason and I use the stick ones, although they seem to be much more thin on the ground in the shops.

AviatorShades · 17/10/2018 23:49

Crystal stick every time. I bring them back from the USA. Know anyone who can bring a couple back for you? They last for ages and ages.

pinkpantherpink · 17/10/2018 23:50

I'm glad it's not just me. When you've forgotten your deodorant and travelling it is so frustrating to be faced with half a dozen roll ons. Haven't used one in years. As odd as it sounds they clog my pores. Have used sprays for a good while as it seemed to become harder to find the cream sticks. become

Intrigued about the deodorant someone is shipping from the States...

HildaZelda · 17/10/2018 23:53

I get out of the shower, dry off and put on the roll on, then throw my dressing gown on while I'm doing my hair and makeup and it's definitely well dried when I go to get dressed.

thenightsky · 17/10/2018 23:58

Sure Cool Blue dries faster than a very fast thing. I think its alcohol based like the old ones used to be. On offer in Morrisons for £1 at the moment.

Next best is Garner Minerals roll on with the pink lid, but you can only buy it in Boyes. Takes a bit longer than the Sure, but never stings.

Worst are bloody Mitchum or Sanex. Both take a lifetime to dry, even with the hairdryer pointed at them.

Enidblyton1 · 17/10/2018 23:59

I’ve given up deodorant completely - thought it would be hideous, but it really wasn’t. Turns out I was behind the times! Many of my friends haven’t worn it for years.

Desmondo2016 · 18/10/2018 09:10

At least you and your friends can all stink together then! Im assuming your post is a wind up!

Leafyhouse · 18/10/2018 09:13

They used to have alcohol in them so they would dry quicker. However they took that out, as it could cause skin irritation. So now, rather like Tipp-Ex nowadays, it takes ages to dry Sad
