AIBU?
to think that giving a 5.5 month old McDonalds is verging on abuse?
Partyfops · 13/10/2018 12:14
So a friend of mine has just posted on FB about their not yet 6 month old baby eating her first McDonalds!! FFS!!!!
This is utterly vile right???
Djnoun · 13/10/2018 12:16
Bit insulting for those of us who actually were abused to compare it to sucking on a cold chip.
cittigirl · 13/10/2018 12:16
Not the best food for a almost 6 mth old but hardly crack cocaine. Chill!
Busyworkingbee · 13/10/2018 12:16
It's really not abuse though! It doesn't bother me how other people bring up their own kids. Aslong as they are warm, fed and loved.
ladyvimes · 13/10/2018 12:16
To be fair it might have been a suck on a chip or a lick of milkshake. I hardly think a 5 month old is gonna manage a Big Mac and fries!
AudaciousCockerel · 13/10/2018 12:16
Bloody hell, get a grip. If you think that’s abusive then you need to pull your head out of your arse and have a think about all the utterly horrendous things that ACTUALLY constitute abuse.
PerryPerryThePlatypus · 13/10/2018 12:17
Not the best thing but hardly abusive. I'd probably roll my eyes and keep scrolling.
Butterymuffin · 13/10/2018 12:18
Abuse is a strong word. But I agree it's a) bloody stupid and b) poor parenting.
Partyfops · 13/10/2018 12:18
The child had its own happy meal and was chomping on a chicken nugget!
Celebelly · 13/10/2018 12:18
I hardly think a few chips and maybe a bite of a burger is abuse. I'd be surprised if she ate more than a bit of a french fry at that age.
Just because it's not something you would do doesn't make it abusive (and I think there are plenty of people who would happily have taken this kind of 'abuse' v the horrific stuff that happened to them as a child).
SemperIdem · 13/10/2018 12:19
I think it’s a bit shit to feed such a young baby that. But it isn’t abuse, no.
Caprisunorange · 13/10/2018 12:19
It’s not that bad. Tbh if a baby is eating chicken nuggets at 5.5 months it’s pretty advanced. Most are gumming on a breadstick until it dissolved at that age
Cornettoninja · 13/10/2018 12:19
It’s not something most people who make a Kodak moment but abuse? No. No it isn’t.
Redglitter · 13/10/2018 12:20
Neither vile or abuse really.
As pp said it's more likely she's had a suck of a chip or something rather than sitting down to a happy meal.
Busyworkingbee · 13/10/2018 12:20
Still not abuse! The child is probably well loved. Why do some parents judge others so much!
If she was getting hammered and smoking around the child, I would agree.
pannikin · 13/10/2018 12:20
Yeah, cos a 5 and a half month old baby is capable of devouring a whole chicken nuggets and chips meal - I struggled to get DS to eat a spoonful of porridge until he was about 8 months!
Grimbles · 13/10/2018 12:20
A CHICKEN NUGGET!!!!!!!
Why didnt you say? Call social services immediately!
Nissemand · 13/10/2018 12:20
There's no way the baby ate a whole happy meal.
It's no different to all the children whose first foods were pizza/chips/nuggets/curry swiped from someone else's plate.
There's nothing toxic in a McDonald's chicken nugget.
Fiffyshadesofgreymatter · 13/10/2018 12:21
It's disgusting. A baby should not be eating shit like that. I agree with you OP.
And her posting it on Facebook like she's proud shed given her baby fast food? Well, she'll be a great parent, won't she.
