Just looking at a recipe and someone has added the offending three words. AIBU?

“Scrummy”

Aggghhhhh! Hate it!

Gnomesofthegalaxy · 12/10/2018 14:16

I hate nom, and nearly all the others mentioned on this thread. My absolute worst is hun, simply can't abide it. Bad enough when a woman uses it but when men use it, OMG my skin crawls.

Also hate holibobs, and saw a thread on here where a poster referred to her husband as 'hubs'. That set me off too

ambereeree · 12/10/2018 14:22

Delish is another one. Makes me cringe.

OP posts:
HumphreyCobblers · 12/10/2018 14:29

'picky bits' is the worst though

emmeyebea · 12/10/2018 14:29

YANBU - it enrages me as well.

GummyGoddess · 12/10/2018 14:32

So, me calling dc1 to the table to eat his nummynoms makes me public enemy number one I guess Grin

LucyMorningStar · 12/10/2018 14:35

Gummy it certainly does! Grin

emmeyebea · 12/10/2018 14:38

nummynoms

AAAAARGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thetemptationofchocolate · 12/10/2018 14:38

I don't like 'eatery'.

WTF are 'picky bits'? Sound like nose-pickings to me :)

GraceMarks · 12/10/2018 14:44

temptation it's a way of saying buffet-style finger food, I think. As in "oh, we're just going to have a table with a few picky bits so people can help themselves". I hate that one because to me, it conveys precisely what you said!

Shopkinsdoll · 12/10/2018 14:47

I really can’t stand this saying. Along with anyone over 10 saying my tummy or so many sleeps till whatever!

GummyGoddess · 12/10/2018 14:49

Totally agree with picky bits. The image that immediately comes to mind is someone picking their feet Envy

ambereeree · 12/10/2018 14:52

Picky bits. No just no. Just say buffet.

OP posts:
ASqueakingInTheShrubbery · 12/10/2018 14:54

Disgusting. It's an articulation of the sound of someone eating with their mouth open.

RavenLG · 12/10/2018 14:55

I can't even look at a 'pinch of nom' Envy (not envy) recipes for this reason. Gross.

I do like picky bits though.

jaffacakemonster · 12/10/2018 14:56

Cannot abide it! YANBU.

Find it unbearably cringeworthy. It's also a bit passe now isn't it? Feel like it became popular for adults to use it a few years ago now.. now it's just... deeply uncool. See also: "Mama"

thisneverendingsummer · 12/10/2018 14:56

Yeah 'nom nom nom' boils my piss too OP! Angry

villainousbroodmare · 12/10/2018 14:57

Worse still is drool or slobber used to say 'that looks/sounds delicious'.

thisneverendingsummer · 12/10/2018 14:57

'Picky bits' is cringe too! WTF does it even MEAN?

cardibach · 12/10/2018 14:59

ASqueaking YES! Exactly that. I hate it.
Gummy why would you do that to your child?

GummyGoddess · 12/10/2018 15:05

Possibly because I've been saying it to my cats for years, never really thought about it.

It reminds me of the kitten eating going yum yum yum video, it's adorable!

kviddics · 12/10/2018 15:05

Hiya huns! Just wanted to share with you yummy mummies some pics of the absolutely delish food hubbas made today. There's choc biccies, ham and cheese sammies, and a bunch of picky bits. Nom nom nom!

Myusername101z · 12/10/2018 15:05

I hate nom ! What really annoys me is people on Instagram saying “vibes” #holidayvibes #sundayvibes etc #pissoff Grin

MrsFezziwig · 12/10/2018 15:09

DontWannaBeObamasElf never go to Australia - they abbreviate EVERYTHING.

jaffacakemonster · 12/10/2018 15:24

Biccies! arrrgggghh
