I'm not talking 18 yo sixth form student. This is my 22 year old daughter who is doing a college course. Hasn't turned up for 3 days and hasn't been able to contact her (I was unaware of this) but they sent the police around? She's 22!

I was meant to be at college/uni today. I emailed last night to say I am too ill to come in. It took seconds. It's just basic manners to let someone know you aren't going to be where you are expected to be. Plus it is also policy that I agreed to when I enrolled.

I am a self-funder but I still need to call in sick.

I would be annoyed at my daughter for not making them aware, which lead to them wasting police time.

There is a lot of emphasis on mental health at the moment and rightly so .I think it was a good call of the part the college shows they do care what happens to their students. Your daughter should have let them know it just good manners and also confirms she is ok .
