I'll start.

AIBU to be pissed off with my recluse sister?

My sister is an introvert to the point where she won't even speak to me anymore. We live together but I literally don't see her from one day to the next and TBH I'd like a bit of company. Also it's bloody cold in our house, especially walking past DSis room, anyone got any recommendations for portable heaters? Preferably from John Lewis.

AIBU to think royale with cheese doesn't quite have the same ring?

AwdBovril · 10/10/2018 14:09

My parents died, so my older sister & I had to move away from our little house by the sea. I went to work in a house with some other women in it, she went somewhere else. I found out the address after many weeks, from one of the older women - I don't like her, she's cruel to me. I found my sister, but she looked so unhappy, I thought her work must be even harder than mine. Later, I found she escaped, I never saw her again. I did try to escape with her, but I fell & got caught. I was supposed to go to school, but they told me they wouldn't send me.

After several years of working as a maid, I got told I was to go to school after all. I had to work hard to catch up with the other girls. Later I was allowed to start work - it is hard work, but sometimes very glamourous. I must always maintain a professional front, & never show my feelings. I become very successful. After a few years, I, along with all my colleagues, am told that we are in great danger, and have to move away, and find different jobs and homes. I miss my friends, my old life.

One day, an old friend comes to see me. His business has collapsed, but he tells me of potential foreign investors, that I could help. I agree to try. However there is an incident, and a colleague (who has apparently always been jealous of me) finds out my secret, and tries to ruin my life. It doesn't work.

Pulp fiction.
Memoirs of a geisha. (Or of Trisha as autocorrect prefers!)

thighofrelief · 10/10/2018 14:18

Yes to Deliverance, Rosemary's Baby and Terminator 2

Binkytheslug · 10/10/2018 14:19

My colleague and I work incredibly long hours for our boss, doing jobs from early morning to late at night. We’ve just got back from a job that was a lot more complicated than we thought, and we needed a break. He’s now asked me to take a family member out for dinner tonight- he’s out of town at short notice. AIBU or is my boss being a cf?

Thatstheendofmytether · 10/10/2018 14:23

Now every aibu thread I read, I'm reading it as though I'm trying to guess what movie they are talking about 😂.

CaptainCabinets · 10/10/2018 14:24

My dad was an abusive drunk and a career criminal. I’m covered in scars from where he’s beaten me over the years. He bludgeoned his girlfriend to death so I decided I’d had enough of him.

WIBU to lead a mob to an attic where he was hiding out with a strange old man and a load of scruffy kids and have him shot while he was dangling from a rope trying to escape?

thighofrelief · 10/10/2018 14:25

I really hate my husband and want to LTB. We don't have any children, thankfully. He is mega controlling and I have to line up all the tins in the cupboards just so. I even have to line up the patterns on the towels, he's nuts. Anyway, I have been pretending to help out at the library recently whilst learning to swim secretly so that I can eventually fall off a boat and just swim away from the arsehole.

AwdBovril · 10/10/2018 14:25

MipMipMip - yes.

AwdBovril · 10/10/2018 14:26

thighofrelief · 10/10/2018 14:27

What on earth are you lot watching!!?? It's an odd mix of Disney and Saw I think Confused

Cel982 · 10/10/2018 14:27

thigh Sleeping with the Enemy?

WhatchaMaCalllit · 10/10/2018 14:27

LOL - I'm doing that too @thatstheendofmytether. I was reading a different thread and before I knew it, I was thinking "What movie is this the storyline to?" and realised that it was actually someone's life and they were genuinely looking for advice. Eeeks!

thighofrelief · 10/10/2018 14:28

Awd - yes

WhatchaMaCalllit · 10/10/2018 14:29

ACats - Pulp Fiction?

thighofrelief · 10/10/2018 14:32

I'm worried about my foster brother, I think he has attachment issues. He used to be a street child and has grown into a very dark and brooding man. He and my biological brother do not get on at all and I think would like to destroy each other. I have a crush on my foster brother but he is obsessively in love with me to the point of insanity really. I walk the moors worrying about the future and what it may hold.

thighofrelief · 10/10/2018 14:33

Captain I'm stuck with yours, any more clues?

CaptainCabinets · 10/10/2018 14:40

I’m a dog Grin

emmeyebea · 10/10/2018 14:40

I've had a really stressful time the last few days, I've really not been feeling like myself ever since we had a meal out last week and to cap it all, I'm getting married tomorrow and I don't know whether I'm doing the right thing or not.
WIBU to completely avoid fortune cookies from now on?

thighofrelief · 10/10/2018 14:42

emme Freaky Friday?

thighofrelief · 10/10/2018 14:44

Captain - Oliver!! I was thinking the dog was a drunk!

CaptainCabinets · 10/10/2018 14:46

Yay thigh you’re very good at this game! Grin

thighofrelief · 10/10/2018 14:49

I've fallen in love with my former employer, I was the nanny to his "ward". I suspect she's secretly his illegitimate daughter as I've heard that her late mother was a floozy and even French. Nvm though, she's a poppet. I'm a bit worried about the sewing woman who lives in the attic, I've heard she drinks and sometimes I hear crackling from her quarters. I suspect she tried to set the house on fire yesterday, it's quite odd. My h2b refuses to discuss it and stalks off looking brooding with his dog, Pilot.

thighofrelief · 10/10/2018 14:50

Captain - bows, thank you. I could be doing housework but thought I would play instead Grin
