To think if I ordered a wrap with cheese I probably wanted the cheese in the wrap?

LIGHTHEARTED

But WHY DO THEY DO THIS? 9 times out of 10 I get a nice chicken and halloumi wrap. Every once in a while I get a deconstructed wrap. Why, just why.

To think if I ordered a wrap with cheese I probably wanted the cheese in the wrap?

Indeed. If you'd asked for a wrap and cheese then what you got would have been correct.

It's like the difference between a woman and child and a woman 'with child'.Grin

Fatasfook · 08/10/2018 17:53

Because they forget to put it in and have to put it on the side rather than make a fresh wrap

Threewheeler1 · 08/10/2018 17:56

How bizarre. Are you going to stuff the halloumi in there?
I've no patience for self-assembly food.
I like it all in one place so I can just attack it, but then again, I do lack 'finesse' Grin

PeanutButterAndJamOnToast · 08/10/2018 17:58

OP have you tried the Fino Pitta? It's absolutely devine...chicken thigh meat, halloumi, salad and caramelised onion sauce thingy👌🏻

Whereisthecoffee · 08/10/2018 18:01

I once asked for cheese on my burger and got it grated in a pot on the side

knittingdad · 08/10/2018 18:03

This is nothing compared to asking for a pot of tea and receiving a pot of hot water with a tea bag on the side.

Athena51 · 08/10/2018 18:06

@PeanutButterAndJamOnToast

OMG, Fino pitta sounds amazing. I need that in my life Smile

letsgetreadytosamba · 08/10/2018 18:06

I’m glad I’m not the only one who gets annoyed by this. I sort of stuffed it in but it wasn’t idea.

Fino pitta sounds good...

I really want some halloumi now Hmm

Hidillyho · 08/10/2018 18:22

Now I want halloumi

WomanWithAltitude · 08/10/2018 18:24

This is nothing compared to asking for a pot of tea and receiving a pot of hot water with a tea bag on the side.

This is one of my bugbears.... I hate it! Why not just serve proper tea?

PeanutButterAndJamOnToast · 08/10/2018 18:30

Athena, letsgetready you both need to try it, honestly the best! I'd got bored of my same order and when DP and I went about 3 weeks ago he decided that's what he was having, I knew I'd get major food envy so I ordered the same thing and absolutely did not regret it.

May have had it twice more since then Blush

In my (pretty extensive) experience as a Kitchen Manager, this sort of thing happens when it gets put through the till and comes through to the kitchen in a vague manner or with no instructions. E.g. if it was an option to 'add cheese' and the staff member front of house doesn't specify where on the meal the customer wants the cheese (in the wrap, or maybe on the chips for example?), it will go on the side to avoid us doing it wrong.

Kitchen staff cannot/do not generally see or speak to customers as we are cooking your lovely food. We are not psychic I wish I was as my job would be so much easier and I don't have time to chase bar staff around for instructions as I am trying to cook 100 peoples lunch in two hours.

letsgetreadytosamba · 08/10/2018 18:46

Shut I’d it were grated or cheddar cheese I could see the logic but it’s slixes of halloumi! 9 times out of 10 they get it right...

OP posts:
JellyBears · 08/10/2018 18:47

I can’t deal with this fashion of deconstructed food!

ruddynorah · 08/10/2018 18:48

It's just cos they've put the halloumi through as a side order.

letsgetreadytosamba · 08/10/2018 18:49

Ps- it’s nandos so hardly haute cuisine

ShutUpBaz · 08/10/2018 18:50

Kitchen staff can't do right for doing wrong most of the time! Its ok, we are used to it Grin.

I've seen some strange combinations in my time (cheese, pineapple and mushy peas on chips anyone?) so a customer wanting halloumi on their chips would not suprise me. I'd be more concerned about getting it right for my customer and the logistics of that task.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 08/10/2018 18:53

Those chips look under cooked.
You've made me hungry though!

letsgetreadytosamba · 08/10/2018 18:54

That was my thought sandy - they could have done them a bit Longer but to be honest I was more concerned with the halloumi placement!

This reminds me of an incident that happened to me a few years ago. I was in a greasy spoon type cafe and ordered a fried egg sandwich and a hash brown. The sandwich arrived, but I could see no hash brown. When I enquired about where it was,the waiter said 'It's in the sandwich. As you asked'. Erm,I didn't actually ask for it to be IN the sandwich!

SuburbanRhonda · 08/10/2018 18:57

The whole meal looks a bit magnolia tbh.

Threewheeler1 · 08/10/2018 19:18

I'm at home having fish, salad and a nice bit of crusty bread tonight.
I'm going to put all the components in different rooms of the house for the fully deconstructed experience Grin

Threewheeler1 · 08/10/2018 19:20

And grrrr to the teabag thing, so annoying!

happystrummer · 08/10/2018 19:28

Thats not a chicken and halloumi wrap wth chips Thats a chicken wrap with chips and halloumi!

Agree with the tea bag and water. One of my annoyances. Thats not tea. By the time they serve up the water and you get the tea bag in it you get luke warm tea like fluid. You need to pour water on tea not dip tea in water for the best results.
