AIBU?
Where has my post gone Re: colleague wanting me to work Christmas Eve?
Birdy65 · 07/10/2018 19:41
I posted earlier today to get opinions on a situation I am experiencing at work. Since I posted I've been out for the day and have just returned to find out my post has been taken down.
I'm not sure what the problem was, but when I've tried to view the thread it just states that mumsnet need to look into what has happened. Can anyone enlighten me? I'm intrigued how my dilemma caused offence or any other problem.
HollowTalk · 07/10/2018 19:42
Someone saying they were your friend posted saying she wanted the holiday.
SheRaTheAllPowerful · 07/10/2018 19:43
Basically everyone said she was a CF though and you should stick to your guns at work!
LegoPiecesEverywhere · 07/10/2018 19:43
I was half way through reading it and it disappeared. Everyone agreed that you should take the day off.
ThroughThickAndThin01 · 07/10/2018 19:45
It was deleted. But everyone agreed with you. Sue is a cf and you should stick to your guns.
Celebelly · 07/10/2018 19:48
Yes, Sue was unanimously branded a CF and told to jog on (#fuckSue). Enjoy your Christmas Eve with your family!
Birdy65 · 07/10/2018 19:48
OMG. I'm so pleased I haven't been around as I'm not sure how I would've replied.
Shall I just play ignorant at work in case it is my Sue?
LegoPiecesEverywhere · 07/10/2018 19:53
Yep play ignorant. There are many similar threads about Christmas leave every year so it could be anyone.
Redglitter · 07/10/2018 19:53
Never seen such a unanimous AIBU
Some daftie came on claiming to be Sue. They forgot to NC though & their posting history was pointed out to them
1vandal2 · 07/10/2018 19:54
Tbh this scenario is probably happening to tons of people right now and more fool the people who get married at christmas as it overshadows everything else
LagunaBubbles · 07/10/2018 19:57
Have you got an email from MNHQ? They should contact you if they remove your thread.
EmeraldVillage · 07/10/2018 19:57
This is the deletion message
Message from MNHQ: We're taking this down now as we need to take a look at what's happened and tbh, it looks like it might be better resolved off the boards.
EmeraldVillage · 07/10/2018 19:57
And tbh this thread is likely to go poof soon as it is a thread about a thread
CallMeRachel · 07/10/2018 19:59
Reading between the lines it would appear 'Sue' recognised herself on the original thread and possibly outed herself (and you)?!
I think she would have got the message though, not one person said you should give up your Xmas eve to work to let her off.
YouTheCat · 07/10/2018 19:59
I'm pretty sure it was just a goady fucker and not the real Sue as she said she'd invented the anniversary and children when someone pointed out the same poster had said she was single on another thread.
And also, stick to your guns, OP.
TomHardysNextWife · 07/10/2018 20:02
The mass opinion was f* you Sue.
Stand your ground OP you have the weight of MN behind you 100% of the way.
Birdy65 · 07/10/2018 20:03
No email just the deletion message when I've searched for the thread.
Feeling nervous that I've been outed by Sue.
I don't usually work on a Monday but I will be there tomorrow afternoon for training so I will see her!
SalemBlackCat4 · 07/10/2018 20:06
The moderation on here is absolutely outrageous. It's a joke. Mods get way too over-involved and remove threads for basically no reason at all. Yet don't remove offensive words. They have their priorities all wrong.
ButtonMoonLoon · 07/10/2018 20:07
The person saying they were Sue said they invented the husband and children just to get the time off. In short, it all sounded a bit far-fetched so I reckon it was a wind up.
Birdy65 · 07/10/2018 20:09
Good to hear that I'm not being unreasonable about wanting to have the time off this year.
Also, to any health care workers reading this thread; I totally get that this must seem trivial if you're all still working most of the holiday and don't forget for one moment how lucky I am with my job role. I've worked plenty of Christmas Days over the years, and know how lucky I am having the day off. I just don't appreciate being used every year and will definitely stick to my guns on this one.
EK36 · 07/10/2018 20:09
I saw it earlier. Everyone said that sue is a c.f. And that you shouldn't swap this year!
